This is a good amp for home studio situations. It's easy to learn how to shape your own sounds and store them. The unit is solid and sounds great. Very happy with this purchase.

I had the CODE 25 for an inexpensive first amp and it was decent but was not loud enough even through the headphones. And the 10 inch speaker was just plain bad. I traded it in and picked up a Fender Champion 100. That was a huge step up but after a few weeks, even with it's amp settings and built in FX, I was already getting bored with the tones. I picked up the CODE 100 combo and it's MUCH louder than the 25, the two 12 inch speakers are definitely better than the one 10 inch in the CODE 25, and having the 100 presets with the ability to change so many parameters....you can get just about any tone you're after. And that's before getting on the Marshall application to download patches, etc. The cleans are very similar to the Fender Champion but are a little warmer. I found the Champion to be kind of overly bright (though you could EQ that out). And the CODE 100 distorted tones are really good. The JVM presets are easy to tweak to get all kinds of great rock and metal from thick crunch to great chugging modern metal. I think the emulations are very good. Especially the Plexi and JVM. They aren't perfect but no sane human really expects to get spot on replication of multiple amps that each run $3-5K for less than $500. Most of the presets aren't great without tweaking and some are down right useless. But a few are pretty cool. The "Volcano" preset is a lot of fun and really does capture the tone of "Eruption". And if the amp itself isn't enough for you.......it has an FX loop. I would say it's a speaker upgrade away from being absolutely awesome at any price. At this price, it's a steal considering everything it can do.
Amazing for the price

Does this amp work good with acoustic electric guitar and electric. I am not looking for an acoustic emulator for my electric guitar. I am looking for an amp that works great with both guitars. Thanks
This amp would work well with both electric and acoustic electric guitars.submitted7 years ago

will it work well with electric acoustic guitar
Yes it will. Marshall has a really great clean tone that not only serves as a good starting point for electric guitars and effects pedals, but also with acoustic-electric guitars.submitted7 years ago
