Excellent

By SmorgaBruce

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I bought the Markbass New York 121 cabinet about 4 months ago to use with my Markbass CMD 121P combo amp. I couldn't be happier. Together, this rig cranks out 500W of power through two 12" speakers (one 12" in my combo amp and one in the New York 121 cabinet). The power, the sound is incredible. And of course this cabinet is so light weight I can carry it in one hand and my CMD 121P amp in the other hand, making set-up and carry-out at the end of the night quick and easy. I can't imagine ever wanting or needing another bass amp.

Markbass 112

By Scott Miner

from PHX, AZ

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I bought this cab after hearing it the the new Markbass Tube 800 head. It made me buy the head even though I was looking for a smaller cab. It is extremely light and sounds great esp. for a more modern sound. If I had two it would handle most gigs. The tweeter is nice because it can create a lot of sizzle or can be dialed down to bring down the highs.

Amazing Portable Cab

By IDAN ARIELLY

from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I got this cab for my GK MB-500. When you live in NYC, you need to have a super portable and loud enough gear. At first I got a GK MBE210, but it was too bulky and hard to carry around so I got the Mark Bass New York 121and what a surprise! This cab sounds so much better than any cab I ever used (GK and Ampeg). It can handle a great deal of volume and it's loud enough to play with a drummer. It has a lot of low end but also it brings out crystal clear high frequencies. It made my Warwick basses shine like I've never heard them before. As for my Fender American standard P bass, It sounded good, but since the P Bass has a more vintage sound I think it didn't benefit from the cab. So definitely if you use an active bass that has beautiful highs you're going to love the New York 121. The size of the cab is great. it's small enough but still looks good on stage. It looks like it weight less than it really is. My only criticism, is that I wish it was a few pound lighter. But don't get me wrong, at 29 lb. it's very easy to carry around. I highly recommend this bass cab to anyone who gigs and have to carry their gear on subways or any public transportation.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

These little cabs weigh only 29lbs but pack the punch of a cab weighing three times as much. Lots of bottom end with warmth and clarity in the middle. And they handle a whopping 400W! Easy to carry from gig to gig - I play professionally for a living and probably play 300+ dates/year, so the combination of travel convenience and performance is key where my needs are concerned. I just can't say enough good about these NY 121's. I currently own two and drive them (either individually or together on larger gigs) with a Walter Woods amp and use them with both my electric basses and upright basses with great success. and by the way, these little cabs handle the bottom-end thunder of the low "B" from any five-string bass with great ease. They really deliver!

Great addition to my bass combo

    By Murvil McClurg

    from Morehead,KY

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I purchased this speaker cabinet as an addition to my Markbass CMD 121P combo amp which made it a stack rig with two 12" speakers. The extra cabinet also increased the power from 300 watts to 500. A lot of power for such a compact rig. Both cabinets weigh less than 60 lbs which is a lot less than just the 4-10 cabinet I was using. The best part is that I didn't lose any sound. I think my new rig sounds just as good or better than my 4-10 cabinet with the 4 space rack I used to use cutting the size in about half. I can get all the lows or highs I want with this Markbass setup and can emulate most amps even down to the vintage Fender Bassman. Markbass equipment is not cheap but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for so it's money well spent in my opinion.

    A gigging musicians dream!

    By Robert Sands

    from Ontario Canada

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

So you love to gig but hate the hassle of carrying all that gear around. Well I found the solution. All you need is one Markbass little mark III and two of these 1x12 cabs and you're good to go. You get wonderful tone, fantastic portability and more than enough wallop for most venue. This setup will allow you to play (without PA support if need be?) any venue holding 300 people or less at a reasonable level (i.e. loud drummer two guitarist etc.) without any problems. Needless to say with PA support, its just awesome!!

Great match for the Mini CMD 121P Combo!

    By David Flowers

    from Chicago, IL

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I bought this cabinet to go with my Mini CMD 121P Combo Amp. The cabinet gives me more headroom, and the entire setup weighs less than 60 lbs. I have bigger rigs, but it's nice to have a 500w 2x12 stack that is easy to move.

Exactly what I needed to complete my compact bass rig.

        By Murvil McClurg

        from KY

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

This extension cabinet was the perfect addition to my MarkBass CMD 121P combo. While the combo has a lot of power (300 watts) with only the combo speaker it jumps to a whopping 500 watts with the additional speaker cabinet. Now both pieces of my entire bass rig weighs a lot less than just the 4-10 cabinet that I was using. The best thing is that I didn't sacrifice any sound. I can get as much bottom or highs as I want with the MarkBass rig and can emulate pretty much any sound I want even down to the old Fender Bassman sounds. The MarkBass equipment is a little pricey but as the saying goes most of the time you get what you pay for.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I just got two of these to use in the services at my church (the sound system there isn't very good, so if I don't bring my own equipment, no one--including me--can hear me). I've been using my Fender Rumble 100 combo, which has good sound, but it can't connect to another cabinet (meaning only the people in the congregation who are sitting where my amp is aimed can hear me), so I planned on upgrading to the Rumble 200 combo, but when I tried it, it was just too big to lug around, even though the weight wasn't too much (I just couldn't get my arms around it to carry it decently, and having it hang off one arm was unmanageable). So I looked for something smaller and found the Markbass New York 121. Perfect dimensions. Wonderful wattage (no, I don't need a total of 800W... yet. I'll be a professional someday and use it then). I bought the Fender Rumble 500 amp head (liked its dimensions, size, weight, and controls, and it can be used with either one OR two of these cabinets without producing too much wattage for one alone, which was important) and hooked it up to the two Markbass cabinets and it sounded great. I got these cabinets because they're easy to carry one at a time since I can get my arms around them, but since I didn't want to make a gazillion trips hauling equipment, I tried one in each hand simultaneously and it was quite manageable (I'm a 5' 4" female). The guards on the corners have grooves that line up with another cabinet of the same type so they stack very well and hold tightly. I'm also using that with my amp head to keep it from rattling off--its feet fit in the grooves and hold it in place. About its "striking good looks" I mentioned--all black + bright orange (it seemed more yellow in online pictures) = really noticeable. In a good way.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I purchased this cab to replace my 2x10 combo amp that was unreliable. From the moment I plugged my Mark nano head in it sounded amazing. I use it for small to medium sized gig and it has plenty of horsepower. It's super light and compact...worth every penny.
