collapse expand iconDescription

The MB PB from Markbass delivers the iconic, fundamental punch of a split-coil pickup in an easy-to-play electric bass. Designed for first-time players and musicians in need of a reliable second instrument, the MB PB bass features a wide neck profile for comfortable playing and intuitive volume and tone controls that make it easy to shape your sound. With a fat, punchy tone that's ideal for classic rock, country, punk, surf and more, the MB PB is built for versatile performance. Despite its accessible price, every instrument is inspected at Markbass headquarters in Italy for quality and consistency.

Iconic Tone From a Split-Coil Pickup

The MB PB is equipped with a classic split-coil pickup that delivers rich, powerful tone. Known for its full low end and balanced midrange, this pickup design has been favored for decades by bassists across multiple genres. Whether you’re holding down the groove in a rock band or exploring cleaner tones for roots or punk, this pickup provides the clarity and output needed to cut through the mix. The straightforward volume and tone controls let you quickly dial in your desired sound with ease.

Comfortable Playability With a Wider Neck

The MB PB bass features a slightly wider neck profile, offering added comfort and a more relaxed fretting hand position. The smooth maple neck and 34" scale length make for effortless movement across the 20 frets, while helping to reduce fatigue during long sessions or rehearsals. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player who prefers a more stable neck feel, the MB PB’s thoughtful design promotes confident, accurate playing.

Simple, Intuitive Controls

Tone shaping is made easy with individual volume and tone knobs. The volume control lets you adjust your output level for clean rhythm playing or a more aggressive presence, while the tone knob allows you to shape your EQ—whether you want added brightness or a deeper, more rounded sound. The streamlined layout gives you fast access to key controls without overcomplication.

Reliable Quality and Value

Built with a solid poplar body and maple neck, the MB PB is engineered for consistent performance and lasting durability. A sleek black pickguard adds a classic visual touch while protecting the finish. Each bass is individually inspected at the Markbass facility in Italy to ensure a high standard of craftsmanship. A padded gig bag is included for easy transport and safe storage, making the MB PB a practical and inspiring option for players at any level.

I didn't own a P bass and on a whim I picked up one of these models in a local Guitar Center location. At its price point I wasn't really expecting to feel good about it. After noodling around on it for a while, I adopted it! All that I can say is that it's an amazing instrument value. #sweepstakes

Been playing bass for more than 55 years. This instrument is good. Was able to set it up to Fender specs - with low action and no fret buzz. ! Good tuning machines, stays in tune, very comfortable to hold and play, It sounds like a PBass. I like it !

This is my first instrument ever, and I have had a lot of fun with it. Definitely heavier than some other basses I've borrowed from my friends, but I prefer that. Colors are sick in person, and has been very fun to learn. Also comes with a soft-shell case and strap, which is nice
