Markbass MB JB Electric Bass Guitar Yellow

Description
Versatile Tone With Dual Single-Coil Pickups
Outfitted with two single-coil pickups, the JB bass offers a wide tonal range, from tight and punchy low end to crisp, articulate highs. Blend both pickups to sculpt your sound, whether you're chasing a gritty Jaco-inspired midrange or a clean, modern funk tone. These pickups handle everything from smooth fingerstyle to aggressive slapping with ease, making the JB an adaptable choice for any genre.Fast, Comfortable Neck for Effortless Playability
The JB bass features a slim, tapered neck profile that’s fast and forgiving. It starts narrow at the nut for easy fretting and gradually widens toward the body to accommodate complex lines and fast runs. Combined with a smooth maple neck and 34" scale length, this design minimizes hand fatigue while encouraging precision, comfort and speed across the fretboard.Balanced Offset Body Design
The offset body shape offers ergonomic comfort with a contoured forearm scoop and double cutaway for upper-fret access. Whether seated or standing, the body shape stays naturally balanced against your torso. Lightweight and visually streamlined, it’s designed for stage-ready aesthetics and everyday functionality.Built for Performance and Value
With a solid poplar body, bolt-on maple neck and chrome hardware, the JB bass is engineered for reliable performance. The classic control layout—featuring independent volume knobs for each pickup and a master tone knob—makes it easy to dial in the perfect sound on the fly. Each bass is inspected at Markbass’s Italian facility to ensure dependable build quality. A padded gig bag is included for convenience and protection.

The neck is comfortable, and the pickups are great. It has a wonderful Jazz bass type of sound. I bought on a whim and am totally pleased with the quality of build and sound, that is similar to much higher priced basses. I ordered the short scale since this model is so impressive.
A great bass

I own a few 5-string basses and needed a 4-string to add to my arsenal. I didn't want to spend a lot, so a Squire was in my radar. I already have a Squire Jazz Bass which I like, but wanted to try something different. I did my research and watched videos on YouTube of multiple basses in my price range ($300-$400). I'm not sure how I found the 4-string Markbass, because I never knew Markbass made basses. The color of the body and shape of the headstock stood out and peaked my interest. After hearing the tone, I was quite impressed. I did more research on Markbass and to my surprise, they make (what appeared to me) quality instruments and sound gear. I completed my purchase and picked it up from GC the next day, took it home, and let me tell you....this bass sounds amazing. The action is a little high for me, but that's an easy fix. Markbass...you have a new customer. Next purchase will be the Sea Green GV model...beautiful instrument.

Are the stock strings actually Mark bass strings or ?
Markbass does offer their own line of bass strings, such as the GROOVE series, which are nickel-plated steel strings available in various gauges. It's possible that the MB Yellow JB is fitted with these strings, but this isn't explicitly confirmed.submitted7 months ago
