    Great sounding snare tempered by sub-par craftsmanship & customer service ! I really like the sound of this snare, too bad the throw off & butt plate are poorly made and screws got completely stripped after few months - i did change the snares and bottom drum head only once (no reason for those parts to get stripped). Mapex customer service is not helping, i have emailed back and forth several times , unfortunately Mapex did not send any parts for replacement. It has been going on for months now, too bad Mapex have a great sounding product, a competitive price point but with zero warranty backup on what appears to be a faulty/damaged product parts. 2 Stars -- needs that special something -- in this case a reliable manufacturer & parts.
