collapse expand iconDescription

The Manhasset Voyager Music Stand is perfect for touring musicians or groups. The Voyager stand has a solid, adjustable desk, yet is completely portable. With the Voyager music stand's lever locking mechanism, it takes only seconds to assemble or remove the desk and with only 2 parts to keep track of, the Voyager stand can also be stored or transported in its own tote bag (sold separately). The Voyager music desk is identical to the Symphony Stand desk (20" wide x 12-1/2" high). The height of this music stand varies infinitely from 26" to 48" (lip to floor) with a maximum overall height of 60-1/2".

This portable version of Manhasset's classic music stand incorporates the rugged and easy-to-use friction height adjustment. By doing so, however, the stand cannot be broken down into truly compact size. When loaded into the tote, which is sold separately, the size is flat, but quite a bit bigger than designs with 3-part telescoping shafts. I think the trade-off is worth it -- the Voyager includes the sturdy Manhasset table and friction shaft, and the folding legs are reassuringly stout.

I've been lugging a full sized Manhasset Symphony stand around for nearly 30 years now. Parties, retreat weekends, vacations, and anywhere else that didn't have stands waiting on me. I hated every minute of it even as I became proficient at balancing a guitar case and stand in one hand. Of course, I did this because I hated those flimsy wire stands even more. The Voyager is just as sturdy and a heck of a lot easier to carry especially with the bag accessory that also has room to hold your music. Every easy to assemble on the spot and just as sturdy as the original. Only one fly (and that's why there's four instead of five stars) they use plastic for the desk lock onto the stand pole. It looks sturdy, but time will tell if it will last the next 30 years.
