Excellent
I used to play in a band so I had speakers and amps and too many things. I recently started doing solo gigs (voice and guitar) and so carrying all that equipment was too much. So, I decided to try this Mackie system. The fact that it's light and easy to carry, well, of course we expect it to be great, but my concern was the sound. Some reviews said it was ok but I wasn't sure. Well, I absolutley love it. It's perfect for my needs as a solo artist. It sounds excellent and it is loud enough for me. Not just for a small cafe/venue like people said. I played outside too and it was loud and clear for everyone to hear. And I did not have it all the way to the maximum volume. Also, I did not need a monitor. I placed it to my left and a bit behind me so that I could hear it and I did not get any feedback. I definitively recommend it.

Wanted to like it...but...
I am spoiled by my full size Bose L1. I had the first version and now the second. However I sometimes do small enough shows that are not worth the effort of the L1 system. For these I had been using the Mackie Freeplay but had never been content with the vocal reproduction it offered. I needed a solution that was "just right". When I saw the SRM Flex I thought I had my answer, but it is so new that there were no reviews and there were none at music stores to try. I bought one from MF and gave it a thorough tryout. I did direct side by side comparisons with the Freeplay, the full size L1 system and a borrowed L1 compact. I tried all the settings on the Mackie app on my phone (a feature I love) I tried all the eq adjustments I could. I even tried sending in a signal from a much more sophisticated equalizer. I could not, over 3 days of testing, get the Mackie to sound as true and clear as EITHER of the Bose systems. I returned the Mackie and bought my own L1 compact. I wish the Bose had an app for mixing with my phone. I wish it had built in fx. I will have to live without those because I cannot sacrifice the quality of my vocals.

Solid build, very portable (light), great sound, in between the Harbinger and Bose price points. Only wish the auxiliary channels had more controls (or mixer have 4 full channels)

I bought this to use in lieu of a PA system house karaoke parties. The quality of the sound coming out is good, but the power is lacking considerably. Most of the reviews and data I looked at indicated this should be able to handle a ~100 person room. I have to crank it almost to maximum volume (gain, level, and master) in order to fill my living room alone - and we are not typically looking for crazy loud, none of my karaoke friends like it so loud you cannot talk. Extra sad since my Living Room is a fantastic acoustical space. Having spent years working in live music production I always loved Mackie products, but I really feel this fell short of their mark of excellence. I will say this thing is crazy light weight - I couldn't believe how easy it was to lift and move around.

I was disappointed it has 2 xlr chanels with separate eq and 2 1/4 in with just volume I purchased this for a duo situation so two mic inputs were great, but channel 3 and 4 was very low volume even at full max volume on main, channel, guitar and keyboard for a 1000 watts over all it wasn't that loud I will say the vocals were very clear and bright I did return it I waited 4 months for it to come in I am looking for something different I really don't understand why mackie didn't just put 4 xlr/1/4 inputs
Great for solo performers

This PA system is loud and clear as long as you use the Hi-Z inputs. The 1/4" inputs need a lot of volume and tweaking to get as good a sound.
