I bought one brand new from Guitar Center that completely failed within a couple weeks. Mackie customer service was the worst I've ever had to contact. After over a month they finally sent a replacement which was a refurbished unit. That unit failed completely in under a week. Customer service out did themselves again and stopped replying to my emails which I kept cordial despite wanting to tell them off. They refused to refund me, guitar center refused to refund me as well because of the time that had lapsed and I did not buy the extended warranty. Mackie finally sent me a third replacement unit, which appears brand new but I am keeping it in the box in hopes of selling it for half price. I bought the KRK 10 inch which performs wonderfully and even sounds better than the Mackie.
Glad I bought this speaker.

I added this sub to my pair of MR524. All that I had to do was to adjust the crossover a bit. It blends so well with the rest of the audio spectrum. I had the krk10s as well the presonus T10 temblor before. I am very happy with what I am hearing out of the MRS10. Looks like Mackie's thought process behind this sub worked out pretty well because you won't see flattering specs w.r.t freq response or wattage but it excelled when it actually came to its performance. Used some Richard Elliot's tracks to tune it and sure enough I am a happy man. I am pretty sure, the sound would open up even more after a bit of burn in. Go for it and you won't regret it.
