I needed a pair of studio monitors for my mixing in my home studio. I have a 24 track Tascam digital recorder and I used the rca outs on the recorder for the speakers and because it also has 1/4 inputs, I was able to hook up my computer where I send mixes to be uploaded to my Tune Core account. I wanted a decent speaker and size. The 3" and 5" speakers just aren't what I wanted. 8" was the lowest I wanted to go. Space is a little factor in my studio area as well. Very happy with these. Just got them today and hooked them up. They sound great! Only thing was, it has 2 on and off switches and you have to turn on the switch in the back of the main speaker to have the switch up front work to turn it on. Took me a minute to notice that feature. I have been able to make better mixes now for masters. I was using headphones and that is workable but hard because it is never the same when you play it back on a system. These speakers are smooth in the bass and solid as well. A nice natural sound for the acoustic work I do along with my electric work. They do get loud as well. Have not had that chance yet to turn it up. I only have it on like 1 or 2 with the dial. No number settings on the volume dial is about the only thing I would like to put in, probably do that myself.
