The reason this pedal is more than other chorus pedals is because you get what you pay for....it IS better. The stereo output option is a must, even if you don't have immediate plans to run stereo, it's nice to expand later without having to buy another pedal. The effect is beautiful and shimmering, and the control knobs offer many different settings to suit your needs. The low pass filter is a nice feature even though I don't use it. All in all this pedal is well worth the money for the years of sounds you'll get out of it.

I admit, the price is definitely tough to swallow. I'm telling you though, you will not be disappointed. What a terrific pedal. Sure, it needs 18 volts of power but it does come with an adapter. I run this pedal seperate and power the rest of my board with the voodoo power supply. Easy as pie. What a sound! I had originally purchased the MXR Micro Chorus because I wanted to save some cash but I ended up being disappointed with the noise that it was producing. The effect was wonderful, the noise was not. I immediately wanted to eliminate the unwanted noise so I exchanged it for the MXR Stereo Chorus. What a difference. A customizable chorus that is dead silent on my board. Now I have a distict tone that I doubt anyone in my area can match. I can't see myself playing completely clean again. This pedal can beef up your chords and make your solos pierce through the mix. Using the treble and bass controls, you can customize your settings and create a beautiful clean-type tone. With or without overdrive/distortion, this pedal sounds great. If you are a tone freak, look no further. Stop thinking about it and buy it. If you don't mind unwanted noise with a straight chorus and no options for customization, pick up the MXR Micro Chorus. I would definitely buy it again if it tanked.

Bought this chorus about 3 weeks ago because I needed a quiet, pro sound with the ability to access every type of chorus, clean or dirty. This pedal does that extremely well. From 70's thick analog (think Boss CE1), 80's grunge, 90's pop to modern shimmery chorus and everything in between. Very easy to dial in your needed sound. Just can't get a bad sound out of it! It nails the Police, and Rush sounds, just like the Mfg. claims. And, like so many posters have said, works very well with gain or distortion. Comes with the 12 volt power supply (very nice) and a solid, 1 yr. Factory Warranty. This chorus is outta sight, man!

Upside: Both units sound great Downside: Both units are at Dunlop as I type this. Very audible click/pop through the audio path when engaging or dis-engaging. I'm a EE and know this is easily remedied. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Excellent sound quality (good components, circuit design) and customer service.
