Waited to review until got to use the mic. It worked well picking up my congas as well as my voice as a harmonizer on Sunday. Appreciated the review about using the hyper cardioid capsule with the switch off. Look forward to a long use of the LSC-1 mic. Am very pleased with this product.

I've used it in about a high school-class-sized room setting and recording with my 170 dollar Fast Pro track so far. When I compare this live condenser with SM58s, it def makes crispier sound, but you might want to press the bass-cut button when you use hypercardioid capsule because it can pick up too much "Sh" and "B" or the boom sound when you touch the mic. In my experience, cardioid and hypercardioid for this mic don't make that much difference in terms of pickup range, but I found that hypercardioid is definitely prone to pick up that Sh and B. I've never actually used Omni capsule in live yet, but in recording, it kind of works like built-in webcam mics. I tried this thing with my portable PA speaker (Behringer K1800FX) which provides 12V phantom power, and realized this mic needs a complete 48V power unlike most other live condensers that can also work with lower powers. Get the nickel silver and it looks awesome and the grill is just beautiful.
