Great mics, great price

I bought these mics as my first condensers. They are inexpsensive and they sound great. The 990 works great for vocals, acoustic guitars and as a room mic. The 991 is a highly sensitive mic and works well for recording ambience or the fret board of an acoustic. Using these two mics together produce a great atmospheric sound. These are the first mics I've purchased for recording and I'm pleased with them. If you're an amateur at recording or not looking to spend alot of money these mics are for you.

Worth Consideration but...

To start, let me point out that these are two $60-$90 mics that are put together in one package. So it is a good deal. These are good lower quality mics and a great starting point for learning. The mics have a bit of a digital/metal sound coloring. This this might not be a bad quality, and can sound nice for certain styles. Also, it can be fixed through some simple EQ so it's not such a big deal. The average listener might not notice this but it is very obvious when listening to a dry unprocessed recording. The box and mic holders that come with this package are made from cheap plastic. In this respect, there are better mic packages out there that are the same quality or better and have a better visual appeal. I would consider other mic packs before finally deciding.

I picked this up as a deal of the day ~ having many mics costing considerably more ~ I have to say that this combo is a great value ~ being both very versatile on a variety of instruments all while costing less than $70.00!!!
