I bought this to have some fun with friends and enjoyed it so much I picked up a large Meinl Cajon with snares. Have not had them for long but am doing the lessons on line and having a great time. Products are made very well and should last a long time, sound is very good with and without snares. Gene C

What you dont see in the picture is that the wood finishing is a very nice smooth satin feel to it making the box quite comfortable.
Sounds great, looks great!

I am a singer/saxophonist so I have little experience with percussion, but have always loved the bongos and congas. Now I have a way to create drum tracks that are REAL and I have so much fun with this instrument. It was not expensive, it is very small, and in a small space as I have to create in, that was a BIG consideration. This is something that I can also share with my young son and we can "jam" whenever, wherever. I love the many tones and sounds I can make with it, if I'm wearing my rings, I can get a "rim shot" sort of sound and there's so much more, can't wait to try recording with it!
Bongos and a Drumset at the Same Time!

This is an amazing instrument. When slapping the snare region slightly harder, you can get an authentic snare sound like that on a drumset. It is easy to play basic rock and pop beats, and slapping a pillow or bed will help you get a bass drum sound. The left corner of the cajon makes a sound that works as a hi-hat. The bongo sounds work well alone or in fills for rock beats on the instrument. You will have lots of fun playing along with recordings on the bongo cajon -- I know I did!

This snare bongo cajon is excellent. It has 2 bongo sounds and a snare sound. It was a bit pricey for me but it was worth it. It is difficult but you could also make your own snare bongo cajon from youtube videos if you want to save the extra money. I recommend this meinl cajon. It is made of very good material and has great sound.
