MEINL Meinl Percussion Hammer Head Cajon Beater

I would use this about once a week, sometimes twice a week, for 3 hour shows with my cajon. I consistently used the beater with a kick drum pedal and it lasted about a year of stomping before the metal rod started tearing into the foam part of the beater. Wish it had lasted longer. I will probably try a different beater this time. But I don't know if it will sound as good. This beater, given the shape and material of the striking head i suppose, sounded very good with the cajon.
