I have 7 different hand drums and this has become my favorite. The low middle hits and high-pitch edge hits are both very crisp and complement each other well. Don't be worried about it being metal and thinking that will hurt your hands. The edge is rounded and very comfortable on the hands while playing. It is also very lightweight and durable. I have had this for almost 2 years, traveled with it, played it outside, and it still sounds amazing and is not damaged. As a bonus, it comes with a travel bag and an extra drum head. I have yet to need to replace the original head. I highly recommend this to any drummer, both experienced or a beginner. If you are thinking about getting into hand drums, this doumbek is a great one to learn first, as it is easy to play and will sound good with many different types of music.

This is just the right drum for the road, weather and multiple venues. Sounds great outdoors and in, has crisp sounds, is easy to tune and has a nice comfortable edge for playing.
