Huge disappointment

Let me start out by saying Meinl makes quality instruments. I purchased this as an alternative to playing a traditional Cajon and this turned out to be a huge disappointment. The entire piece feels like a toy. The tone of the individual pieces do not sound good or project acoustically. Also there was a lot of buzzing coming through the pickups. Not sure why they used plastic parts for the individual mounts either. With that said, there is a lot potential for set ups like this and I hope instruments like this improve to give drummers more options for acoustic gigs.
Enjoyable Drumset

I've been enjoying this drum set. It has good sound and I love how it includes snare, tom, bass, and bongo. It fits perfectly into my small house that doesn't have room for a full size drum set. I like how I can put it into my mixer or Spire Studio and then to headphones so that it doesn't bother others around me by how loud it is. Something I wish it had was an instruction manual on how to put it together, and how to get the sound out. I was able to figure it out, but there were several times where I wish there was an instruction manual. It would also be nice if this drum set came with cables to hook it up with so, you could have the sound.

Does the meinl cocktail cajon kit still sound good when it is not amped up, or does it only work well if it is plugged in?
It sounds great. It's designed as an acoustic instrument. The amplification came later.
