Nice Package!

I bought this package awhile ago, and its worked great for me! No matter how loud i put the music at, the speakers don't blow, and they sound great (the bass booster is really nice too). Also, the cables and the boom stand have worked well for me. I was able to swap out the microphone to an ST51 from Sterling Audio, since I already had the MXL 990. Overall, it was a great package, and it was $229 well spent.

I purchased two of these items separately at GC Bartlett (Memphis)(the av40's and a mxl two mic package 990-991 The Mic is way better than the dynamic I was using. Very sensitive! That IS what I wanted A decent Mic! The speakers are perfect for me. I like the front panel AUX IN jack I send to it from one of my headphone amps outputs. The left speaker has the Amp for both in it. It gets warm at idle so its not Green Technology. When properly positioned these speakers sound better than any I have heard. Clean and clear uncolored. They came with an assortment of (sub mini - mini, mini - mini - rca - mini and rca - rca) cables. Had these for a month I don't leave the speakers on and the mic has had slight use and it has a nice case. I plan on using these things for a long time. You get the shock mount with this deal.
Sounds good to me

This a review of the monitors only. I bought them seperately in my local GC. Bear in mind that I'm not an expert, and that these monitors were an upgrade from PC speakers. That said, I think they sound great. Loud and clear with good bass. Buy these monitors, if you're looking for great sound and still want to keep some beer money in your pocket.

Pros: Bought these bad boys on Labor Day. The only problem i had so far was the included RCA to stereo jack cable. Looks like it was damaged so i replaced it with one of my own. As far as speakers themselves - blew me away... Studio quality for an excellent price. Best choice in quality/price category. I am not a professional musician but have a decent understanding how flac format should sound like. Even using stock MBP sound card they sound truly amazing. Customer Service is Superb as well. Way to go Guitar Center :-) Highly recommend these speakers for home (music, movies) or studio (professional) use... Cons: Uncle Sam did not pay for them
Perfect for Home Studio

This package finished off my new home studio perfectly. I run a PC based studio using an Mbox 2 mini with Pro Tools. This package is an exceptional value and I am completely satisfied with the quality of each piece for the price paid. I doubt that you'll be able to find better stuff at this price point. The monitors are attractive and sound great, and are nice small size for sitting on a desk. The fact that they are powered monitors means less clutter around the work area, too. Headphone jack on front of left monitor is handy for quickly tracking with 'cans' on. The MXL 990 mic has been great for recording acoustic guitar and vocals. (Mbox 2 mini has the required phantom power.) The headphones are nothing special, but are comfortable for wearing while tracking with a live mic in the room. This package had all the cables needed to get everything hooked up and get recording immediately. For setting up a home studio on a budget, I recommend this package 100%
