This traditional concert uke takes its design from traditional Hawaiian body ornamentation. Those designs were monochromatic, tattooed in black against brown skin, with strongly geometric patterns, and many shapes and symbols inspired by the natural island world: stones, waves, fish, sharks, turtles, rain, sun, birds. The design is primarily based on waves and sharks teeth which are also echoed as fret markers. This electric model adds the advantage of an onboard preamp.

Includes gig bag.

SWEET!!!

I'm SO EXCITED about this little instrument! Upon opening it, I noticed how carefully it was packaged....overkill, in fact! Then, expecting a mediocre finish, for the price, and WOW was I surprised! it is just beautiful! The "tattoo" engraving is really nicely done, first class! So I played the heck out of this little beauty for 3 days and was amazed at well it stayed tuned! The sound is really mellow, not 'tinny' Really sweet! My rockin' son, plugged it in to his Line 6 amp and played some Hendrix with it. WOW!! I'm so happy with this Uke and can hardly wait to get back at it in about, oh, 3 minutes from now! I highly recommend this not only for the exceptional price but for it's craftsmanship and sweet sound!

    Anybody have an issue with the G string being sharp when fretted? The action is very high. I'm considering taking it into GC to get it set up properly. The action on mine is very high and the G string when fretted is 1/4 to 1/2 a note higher.
