Luna Cajon by Luna Percussion Feat. Kenny Suarez

Luna
Description
The Luna Tribe just got bigger. For centuries, cajons have played a key supporting role in music history. Luna cajons are built to enhance all aspects of the performance, from visual aesthetics to functionality to comfort. Adding a more unique touch, Luna takes the cajon a step further by applying the signature Luna Tattoo design on the front, which sits comfortably on ash wood. Crafted together using a mixture of strong woods, the Luna cajon produces deep and punchy bass tones off the ash wood front piece while the body is supported by birch and eucalyptus woods, ensuring a sturdy structure. With a built-in snare, drummers can control the beat of the music and alter the rhythm of the music at any pace with the easily accessible quick switch of a lever for on and off control.

Each comes with a gig bag and a soft foam pad for comfort when sitting on the cajon.

My brother loved this as a birthday gift - his first Cajon! The drum is well-made, the sound is fantastic, the design is fun. Also, the bag is well-made and the backpack straps come in handy.

This is my first cajon. It is a good value for a beginner. I like the bag, it is put together well and should endure. The design could have included a flapped pocket. A clasp or belt to augment the Velcro closure would probably help when carrying it by the top handle. The backpack straps are cool. The cajon is easy to remove from and replace in the bag. The cajon itself has a good sound, low, mid and high notes speak equally. The elementary snare throw-off works well, but doesn't allow for quick changes. The size is good - I'm 6' 2" and north of 230 lbs. The cajon doesn't feel small to me. It's a good fit. I would have liked better fit and finish on the construction. For example the screws securing the front piece were driven at random angles. One of the edges of a screw head protrudes above the board. Also, the edges where the sides, top, and bottom boards come together could have been finished more evenly. Sometimes one board extends beyond the one adjacent to it. As for materials, the plywood top has a spot about the size of a half dollar where the outer ply de-laminated a bit sometime prior to being finished. I like the green stain. It looks very rich and has depth. The design on the front does not annoy me. For the price this cajon is a good value. I'll enjoy learning on it. I'm not planning on taking it to play out, though the sound is good enough. Sorry about the headline. :)
