High Tide Koa Concert Ukulele

Description
The Luna Guitars High-Tide Koa Concert Ukulele combines exotic tonewoods and innovative electronics for an instrument that shines on stage or in the studio. Its concert-sized koa body resonates with full, balanced tone that only improves with age. When plugging in, the High-Tide Ukulele comes alive thanks to a piezo pickup and Luna preamp with 2-band EQ, enabling you to shape your tone for any musical situation.
Resonant Koa Body Projects a Lush, Complex Voice
The High-Tide Ukulele gets its rich, sweet voice from a concert-sized koa body. Koa is prized for combining the midrange warmth of mahogany with the crisp highs of maple. Over time, koa opens up and blooms, rewarding players with greater depth and resonance. Visually striking, the High-Tide Ukulele's koa body features exotic grain patterns you'll find hard to look away from.
High-End Electronics Provide Plugged-In Versatility
Though the High-Tide Ukulele sounds stunning acoustically, you can take its lush tone on stage thanks to a piezo pickup and Luna preamp with 2-band EQ. Dial in just the right amount of lows and highs for your needs. The preamp's simple controls make it easy to shape your tone in the moment.
Playability Perks Enable Expressive Performances
The High-Tide Ukulele offers a number of playability enhancements for inspired playing. Its walnut-capped mahogany neck feels smooth and fast. A cutaway provides comfortable access to upper frets. An open-gear tuner system keeps your ukulele in precise tuning through dynamic performances. A walnut bridge adds clarity and sustain. Dotted with stylish abalone wave inlays, the rosewood fingerboard puts the finishing touch on this ukulele's stunning good looks.

I bought this 3 years ago at GC in Pasadena. As soon as I picked it up, I wanted it. Fast forward to present, and this has been sitting in the box in the closet having never been played. I decided to sell it so someone could enjoy it, and I could recoup some of my money...Had a buyer who was excited to get it. So the night before I was to sell it, I decided to pull it out and just pull up a youtube video and try to play it once. I found a video that said, "Play Ukulele in 5 Minutes," so I popped that video open, and no joke, in 5 minutes I was strumming away and felt like a rock star. LOL I had so much fun playing this (and of course have always loved the way it looks), that I decided NOT to sell it and I'm not learning how to play. I highly recommend this uke. You won't regret it. I do, however, recommend buying a better gig bag or case as the one that comes with is super thin and wouldn't protect it, other than from dust.
Oh yes.

My niece had a standard uke that she loved so much but was getting much wear. She showed me this Acoustic Electric on the Guitar Center website so I took her to the store and bought it for her. She loves it.

This was the second Luna uke I have purchased. First was for my granddaughter. I was so impressed that I ordered this one for myself. Delivery was prompt. The packing was very good to prevent damage. It is a beautiful instrument. The ad pictures are accurate, maybe even understated. The inlays are great and the finish is smooth. Tuned it up and was ready to go. First thing I noticed was the tone. It was warm and vibrant, even when lightly thumping the strings. Electronics work great, plugged into a mini amp. The gig bag is adequate. Would have been nice to have options for a hard case

Is this made of all solid wood at top, bottom, and side or just laminated? what makes this instrument different from this instrument UKE HIGH TIDE CONCERT KOA W/ PREAMP AND GIGBAG which I found same price in LUNA official web page? What is the size of the neck. Can you please drop the complete descriptions down in the product list?
It's the same instrument that they have on their website. They just say "Gigbag" in the name.submitted5 years ago

I just bought a Fender Frontman 10G amp so I could plug in my ukulele (High Tide Concert Acoustic-Electric Koa) and although the amp is simple and seems to work right, when I plug in the cable, I can't get sound out of the uke. No amount of volume or other adjustments do anything. The cable fits well into the receptacle. What could be wrong? Thanks.
Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what the problem would be without being able to inspect the instruments. It is possible one of the items may be defective.submitted6 years ago

Where is this product made? Also is it made of Koa wood like advertised? When I did further research, some are saying this seems to be laminate??
I verified with the manufacturer, they have confirmed the body and the top are both Koa. And it's made in China.submitted6 years ago

i've noticed that on your website the body of the uke looks more green, but on the official luna website, it looks more like a greyish brown. what color is it?
This would actually look like the more grayish brown color that is shown on the Luna site.
