Flora Quilt Maple Concert Ukulele

Flora Quilt Maple Concert Ukulele

Luna

Description

The Luna Guitars Flora Concert Ukulele is graced with hibiscus and plumeria inlays around the soundhole. Hibiscus is the national flower of Hawaii. Because the bloom only lasts for a short period every day, it sends a message to "seize the day" and symbolizes delicate beauty. Plumeria is a symbol of Spring and is therefore associated with birth and life.

This beautiful Luna ukulele features a brilliant trans-purple flame maple top and a maple body, producing full, deeper sound along with the instrument's concert body size. The cutaway offers comfort when accessing the upper-register frets, and the maple neck and rosewood bridge and fretboard add lasting sustain and clarity to your tone. The open-style tuners keep the instrument in precise tuning and the onboard preamp provides easy amplification that can be dialed in quickly.

Includes a gig bag.

This ukulele is gorgeous. It's a beautiful mahogany color with pink and purple mother of pearl floral inlay. The shape and size make it comfortable to play. The electronics don't add too much weight. I love the sound of this ukulele. Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Don't be fooled by this picture -- it is NOT purple. It is not purple ISH. It is at best a burgundy. I had ordered this and actually returned it. I am a fan of the tones of the darker woods (mahogany, cedar, koa) and this light maple just sounded like a banjo...almost like a toy. If you know you like the maple sound, then you might like this, but if you're a dark wood fan, step back and choose something else.

This is my second Ukulele. I had bought a Nalo Concert Ukulele from Hawaii with hard case, electronic tuner and extra strings. My wife wanted the Purple Luna Concert Ukulele which also happens to be electric with a Pre-Amp. She loves her Uke. She likes purple and the pearl inlay of flowers. The sound is nice and soft. However when we put in the Luna 5 watt AMP, you can make it as load as you want. I like this feature and she likes the idea, but thinks we need more lessons. I had previously bought two books on How to Play the Ukulele Hawaiian style. We are going through those books fast. You are also taking advantage of your Free Ukulele Clinics at your Sacramento Guitar Center. Your instructors are wonderful. I am also checking You Tube and have met Mike Lynch who has several lessons. Through him I also met Glenn Rose and Kimo Hussey. I have been communicating with Kimo in Hawaii and learning more about Jazz Ukulele. I wife wanted me to buy the Luna Blue Concert Electric Ukulele to match her Ukulele. So, I bought that one as well. I am getting the Luna 5 watt AMP from another source, since you do not sell that brand. We are practicing and will sound good and load together. So far, we are only going the chords with the music and the double strum. We will advance by learning more chords, more strumming patterns and then picking and strumming. She likes her Luna Purple Ukulele. We start by tuning the Ukulele. She has learned how to use my older electric tuner and checks each string. I also about the new electronic tuner that turns from Red to Green. I love it. I use it on my Nalo Concert Ukulele. It usually stays in tune, but I get to see the Tuner turn from Red to Green right away. Whey I bought this Ukulele in Hawaii, I had her put on new strings and tune it. I also bought new strings, which I have not had to use since I have not played it in a while. There are not very many of these Ukuleles around, so it is probably worth over %600 as a vintage Ukulele. It keeps it tune most of the time. We play it know also every day.

This is my second ukulele, and I am glad that I went with this one. It isn't only pretty, it has an excellent sound to it. I have used it at our church both plugged in and mic'ed it sounds great either way. It comes with great strings, you normally have to change the strings when you get a new uke, but this comes with Aquila strings already. Overall I am VERY pleased with this and SO glad I went through Guitar Center-their customer service is always great!

Will there be any in stock at the Rivergate location anytime soon? I really love this ukulele but I do want to play it before I buy it. If I did order it and go to pick it up and don't like it, would I be able to order a different one without extra charge?
