This is a really nice drum for the price. I put a Genera Dry head on it. The head that comes on it is just a single ply head. I like the nylon washers it came with on the tension rods top & bottom.

The product lives up to the reputation of Pearl drums. The sales force at Guitar Center are polite, quick, and know the product line.

I have a Ludwig steel shelled drum set made circa 1981 since 1988, but didn't have a Ludwig snare. I would have preferred a Supraphonic snare, but cost of that snare, even used, is a little pricey for me. However, with this new metal shelled Ludwig snare, it fits my two criteria--Ludwig and steel-shelled!!!!

This snare much to my surprise, sounds really good. I upgraded the heads and snare wires. After these upgrades, the snare came to life. Use it live or in studio, you won't be let down. Thanks Ludwig!!
