Sound's great. Evened out the factory tuning with the drum dial then perfected it with my ear for a great, fat, articulate and dynamically responsive sound that rim shots well from both sides. Great sounding as a tom as well.

This snare is an excellent choice if you're looking for that "shotgun" sound at an affordable price. I play hardcore punk, metal, and funk. This snare is fat, tight, and versatile to different tunings. Throw your heads of choice on and simply enjoy. However, be careful of smaller settings, as this snare carries a lot of power, even when played at lower velocities.
Drum is ok but it is quite out of round. Had to upgrade the

I'm a lifetime drummer and musician with 35+ years of experience in performing and recording. This is a great snare for the money. Nice tone, well made and has really nice projection. I bought this to have a really deep low end tone snare, but once I tuned it up and heard how amazing it sounded high and tight i just kept it that way (my head skin is at about 95psi). My only complaint is there is no muffler/dampener, which my Supraphonic has. So I had to by one and drill into the snare, which took no more than 5 minutes but still, these used tone standard and now they just aren't. Other than that, awesome versatile snare for the quiver.

The snare has a very rich sound. The perfect amount of resonance and ring not too much not to little. And for the price they sell it for? I recommend this for a first or last snare in your lifetime.

Is the veneer real wood, or is it a composite/vinyl?
It's a wrap.
