    At church, I have a stereo rca connection available to run between the soundboard and camcorder. At first I was using "female" rca to rca couplers with an rca to 3.5mm cable. Not very neat. I got this 3.5mm to stereo rca coupler along with 3.5mm to 3.5mm female coupler instead. The result is a neater and more reliable connection. And it allows me to use a normal stereo 3.5mm patch cable of my choice and length.
