Mic to 1/4" without volume drop

I use this to run a mic thru the 1/4" IN on a Boss RC3 looper pedal. It works great. I had used an XLR to 1/4" that didn't convert impedance before and lost almost all the volume. This one does the job and i can run a mic alongside my acoustic (the RC3 looper has 2 inputs) without volume level issue :)

For some reason it would not work ??

Picked one up today to use a TS 1/4 input to put a mic into it - have used many of these over the years including these and the ones that transform the other way like 1/4 to XLR. It just would not work for some reason and then I found the end where the 1/4 stem is loose - maybe it was previously returned. It just cut the volume down to almost nothing - even after turning the channel way up you could tell something was wrong - we be heading back to GC to return it soon.

#sweepstakes. For live performance to support the speaker I also bought with it at Guitar Center. I will use it for when I play a keyboard on small private gigs as well as for my own personal recreational use to listen to music at home.

Love this. It is very helpful when your board runs out of xlr inputs

  • This is a lifesaver - just buy 2 and thank yourself later

I use this all the time in the studio and on stage. easiest way of getting your impedance correct. Wanna use effects pedals on your microphone? grab this and a DI box and you're good to go! Perfect for anytime you need to make a long, unbalanced cable run.

  • Professional grade piece of equipment.

I highly recommend this higher end unit. It is much more durable than the basic model.

The Livewire Essential High Impedance Transformer will convert you condenser (XLR) to hi impedence - dynamic (1/4"). It works in only one direction - low to hi.
