I bought two of these adapters to fill a specific need. My power amp's two Speakon jacks are immediately adjacent to the cover over the binding posts. It is virtually impossible to pull the release and rotate the connector for removal. The adapters put 1/4" jacks out away from the cover. I do need to use different speaker cables, but I already owned them. For me it was the perfect solution - I never have to remove the adapters again!
