The only cable for your Vax and XTL or Vetta II

This is the only cable you should use to connect your Variax to a POD XTL or a Vetta II amp. It is constructed well and works perfectly, I've heard alot people try and make thier own cable and end up frying thier Variax or amp. Don't do it!! It's not a regular ethernet cable, just buy one of these and protect your investment! GC has the best price on the net, so look no further!

2nd VDI cable for use with JTV59 (new)

I just purchased this VDI cable to be used with my JTV59P(Korean). Functionally it works fine with one exception, the new cable material is VERY stiff. The source of this stiffness is the outer jacket material. I have a ~1.5 year old VDI cable that I use with a JTV69(K) and that cable is limp like other typical 1/4" guitar cables, no issues. The new VDI cable is so stiff, that even at room temperature it retains loops and kinks (trip hazard) after 2 weeks in the studio. Line6 goofed up with the change in material. I'm an electronic engineer and have designed custom cables for DOD uses, and jacket material is typically a difficult trade space for ruggedness vs. compliance (limpness). IMHO, Line6 should go back to the old material or Alpha Extraguard 2 type jacket. Also suggest using adhesive lined 4:1 heat shrink vs the thin material used for the end strain protection (with the Line6 logo printing).

    It worked. I plugged the cable into the Variax and the HD500x and the Variax worked. Not sure what else to say other than 'it worked'.
