Amp Models:
Clean
Red LED: Crisp, shimmering clean tones and warm jazz tones.
Green LED: Glassy clean tones like those from the late 60s/early 70s. Inspired by a '73 Hiwatt Custom 100.
Twang
Red LED: Classic, glassy high-end with some snap and bite. Inspired by a Fender blackface '65 Twin Reverb and a blackface '64 Deluxe Reverb.
Green LED: Swingin' rockabilly tone a la vintage tweed. Inspired by a '53 Fender tweed Deluxe Reverb, a '58 Fender tweed Bassman, and a '60 Gibson Explorer.
Blues
Red LED: From gritty, swampy clean tones to syrupy smooth drive tones this was inspired by a mix of a '65 Marshall JTM-45, a '58 Fender Bassman, a '63 Fender Vibroverb, and a Supro.
Green LED: Early British rock tone made famous by the Beatles and the Stones. Inspired by a fawn Vox AC-30 with an updated and expanded tone control circuit.
Crunch
Red LED: Classic crunchy tone popularized by many early metal bands. Inspired by a '68 Marshall Plexi 50-watt.
Green LED: The infamous brown sound inspired by a '68 Marshall Plexi 100-watt with a few added extras - jumped input channels and a Variac transformer.
Metal
Red LED: Tight and punchy high-gain sound inspired by a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier.
Green LED: Use this for aggressive high-gain sound. The mid knob sweeps the tone spectrum. Set to minimum for fuzz-pedal characteristics, set to noon for creamy, modern high-gain, or crank it for Class A carnage.
Insane
Red LED: Famed and feared bone-crushing, brain-piercing grind inspired by the Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier red channel.
Green LED: Short of a complete meltdown, this provides as much input-gain distortion as possible while retaining tonal definition and character.
Effects:
Spend more time playing and less time tweaking with Smart Control FX. Find the effect you want, turn the knob to the desired intensity, and you're done. Spider Jam offers seven effects, including dedicated Reverb, to choose from, and you can use up to three at a time. They include:
Chorus/Flanger
Phaser
Tremolo
Delay (with Tap Tempo)
Tape Echo (with Tap Tempo)
Sweep Echo (with Tap Tempo)
Reverb

An old veteran is very impressed
40 years of been there, done that has taught me alot...mainly that you have to keep an open mind, especially in music! I have played dang near every amp out over the last 50 years and have my favs, but this Line 6 Jam amp is not only alot of creative fun to work with, but the modeling is very, very impressive. I can hear alot of dead-on sounds with most of the amp models. Simple to use, motivates the creative juices, and sounds so flexible and easy to dial in. I wont be packing up my other amps, but this is my go-to for writing and recording. And I will gig with this! Backing tracks alone are worth this just for practice and writing.

Beware of Internal Software
This amp was great when I first purchased it. The instant record and loop function is really cool to play with. It's also nice that a mic can be plugged into it for recording and looping vocals and or acoustic guitar. Saddly, I started experienceing issues with the amp after 6 months of home use. When trying to save recorded tracks to the SD card slot the amp would shut off and nothing could be saved. I've also started to experience issues with the recording and looping function not working. Very dissapointed with the quality.

Good sound and many effects and model simulations plus cool drum simulator but the chorus really needs to have it's own knob. I don't like that it's combined with Flange if I don't want to use flange and just Chorus you can't do that.
Very powerful

Had issues with channel volume shutdown if I move it up? Hard to balance volume between program songs and guitar channel. Amp software outdated. Needs Bluetooth capability.
Huge disappointment

Cant even tell if its defective or just bad. Just Touch the channel volume and it cuts out until you reset the tone selector. Many of the presets cause the amp to feedback. Cant find a tone I like... New amp should be fun. This is not.

What pedal can I buy for the line 6 spider jam 75 watt amp that will allow me to record and stop hands free?
It's a bit involved. Please see "https://line6.com/data/6/0a06434d8a7c507ef921e9d44/application/pdf/Spider%20Jam%20Pilot/'s%20Guide%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20I%20).pdf" Page 25submitted5 years ago

The three white buttons (stop, record, etc.) on top are no longer functioning. After a year or so, they just stopped working properly. When purchased new, all you had to do was barely touch them and they worked great. But then I had to press harder and harder for those buttons to work and eventually they stopped working at all. To me, these three buttons are the heart and soul of the spider jam amp, and for these three buttons to be the most vulnerable to failure is inexcusable! Has Line 6 had this issue and if so, what decisions were made? Maybe Line 6 should considered using a different type of switch to replace these with? If so, please let me know.
