Relay™ Digital Guitar Wireless Systems Overview | Line 6

Line 6

Description

The Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System redefines the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists with superior sound, professional dependability and refreshing simplicity. The Relay G30 provides a pure signal so guitars get a beautiful high-end sparkle and basses get a thunderous low-end punch, even at distances of up to 98' away. The signal's clarity rivals that of the highest-quality guitar cables. Traditional wireless systems compromise their sound by rolling-off crucial high and low-end frequencies and compressing their signals. Relay G30 offers superior sound with full bandwidth and zero compression.

Pro-Level Dependability

The Relay G30 broadcasts its robust signal over the 2.4GHz band, avoiding interference from TV stations, public safety broadcasts, and cell towers. For added security, the system employs exclusive signal protection technology: it broadcasts an encrypted data stream on six channels simultaneously. Traditional wireless instrument systems are susceptible to dropouts, static and interference from sources up to 100 miles away.

Intuitive Simplicity

The lightweight transmitter remains out of the way during performances, while the rugged receiver sits atop your amp or pedalboard, with bright LEDs displaying power, status and battery life. Standard 1/4" inputs and outputs provide real convenience. For players accustomed to cables, the Relay G30 features two EQ settings matching typical guitar cables' frequency responses. Players use different cables, but all can use the Relay G30. The Relay G30 comes complete with transmitter, receiver, cable, power supply and batteries.

Amazing!

The Line 6 G30 suprised me! I have heard good reviews about their X2 wireless systems and decided to try out the new Relay wireless systems. I got this product yesterday and was messing around with it all day. I was trying my hardest to get interference and dropouts, but i couldn't. I ran up and down the stairs, outside, and even to my neighbors house...nothing. 100 ft is plenty of room for you to move around and chances are that your not going to be on a stage that's over that lengh. This is a product that you definately have to check out if you want to go wireless on a budget. Line 6 has done it again!

Great sound. Poor design.

The wireless on the product is great. It really sounds amazing. The problem comes with the G30 transmitter that hooks to your guitar. The clip that straps to your guitar strap is held on by two very poorly designed plastic feet. On two G30 transmitters, one of the feet has broken off making the unit to where it won't strap onto the guitar strap. This makes having a wireless unit almost useless. Both feet could not be glued back on. The only solution was to buy another G30 transmitter, but they are too expensive. I really recommend looking at another product because if you buy this one, you will most likely be replacing the transmitter unit due to poor design.

My system has never given me issues with dropouts, Not once. That said, the transmitter is the weak link. It sounds great and never drops, but the battery door has never closed correctly so I use a rubber band to hold it closed after I slide the little lock latch (which never stays on its own, and never has since new). I also had issues with the plastic strap clip "feet" breaking. Nothing a little JB weld couldn't fix, but worth mentioning. The receiver unit fits nicely on my pedalboard and has even gotten wet, but still works fine. So my opinion is: An excellent wireless at it's < $250.00 price point. Excellent for home practice, band rehearsal and casual playing situations. I am not sure I would want to rely on it for a live event. (Although I have used it live a few times with no issues) I would just rather have the peace of mind of a metal unit with secure battery door closure and strap clip.

Seems to have a lot of drop off I use new batteries plug it in and even in open line of sight still have drop offs its extremely annoying to be playing and it just intermittently goes off and on blinking at me. Very frustrating thought this would be a step up from Bluetooth but it's not don't get this you'll be unhappy with the money spent. I had higher expectations from line 6.

  • Amazing product of course i will buy it again

I've been using the wireless live for the past 3 years. My other guitarist and bass player use one as well. The wireless functionality of these are phenomenal, even though they run on 2.4ghz. We can all move around stage freely crossing each other without any dropouts or interference issues (even though we also run wireless in ear monitors and a wireless microphone) With that said, I'm sure as everyone knows, the built quality of the transmitter is about as poor as it gets. I knew this when I bought it, so I immediately bought a transmitter pouch with it. I've been using it with a pouch for over 3 years now with absolutely no issues whatsoever. My guitar player's battery door had broken and the clip broke off as well. He got a pouch for his, no issues whatsoever since then. Just get you a pouch for the transmitter and you'll be good to go. They are otherwise a solid choice for wireless guitars on a budget.

It seems to have fades and drop outs when there is a lot of other wireless devices present. I played many gigs with more than 200 people present. Signal dropped off even from a few feet away. Been using for 3 weeks will update if condition improves

  • Great product for the price
