My First Wireless goes on the road
The G10 is my first foray into wireless. However, I was surprised to learn how many of my friends have wireless systems that they really don't use. I practiced at home and with the band and it performed flawlessly, so I took it out for the first time a couple weekends ago. The first place I used it was a neighborhood outdoor gig. Again, absolutely 0 problems on stage. I checked for range and could get a good distance off the stage before it started having problems. So on-stage at least (a big stage too) there's no range issues, and sound quality on my 5string bass was excellent. Maybe I have tin ears, but no distinguishable difference between wireless and cable. Next place was with a new band (to me) practice in a warehouse. I think it may have dropped out once while there, but I'm not really sure even then, and if it did drop out it came right back. Next place was in a friend's living room with probably about 15 people or so. There I definitely experienced some dropouts. Oddly, his wireless router ALSO experienced dropouts. Something was hammering the frequency band apparently. The 'audience' dispersed slowly and when one group left, the wireless came back and I had no more dropouts. So we decided one of those people's phones was just killing the airwaves in the house. IMHO, the freedom that comes with Wireless is worth the odd risk of a bad electronics device spewing radio waves. On a decent size stage, the audience is far enough away to minimize the risk. In close quarters, not so much. But I'll be bringing my G10 EVERYWHERE, with a cable standing buy just in case. From my conversation with friends, the #1 reason they don't use their (more expensive) systems is battery worries and the cable-strap pod that limits switching instruments, both of which are perfectly addressed by the G10 design. The nature of wireless probably is never going to be as reliable as a cable, at least without major $$$ for a truly top of the line system. But for me, this is perfect.

VERY disappointed
I was very excited when I bought this since it is rechargeable - NO MORE BATTERIES, right??!! Well, I played 6 high profile shows (South Side Ballroom (Dallas), House of Blues Dallas, Houston and Cleveland, etc.) with the G10 and the signal cut out on me 4 of the 6 shows. It always worked perfectly during sound check, but then craps out the very first song of the actual shows sending me scrambling for cables. After the first couple of times it happened, I took it back and swapped it out in case I had a defective unit. Not so. SO bummed to have to return this and get something else. I'm guessing the signal gets scrambled with all of the cell phones in the audience. So it's great if you'll just be playing at the house, or if nobody comes to your shows.

Outstanding Sound Option

It probably isn't the best option if you're Taylor Swift, but for home, small venues and gigs, it will get the job done. I'm not a professional and this probably isn't what a musician will use for a pro-gig. However, this thing packs a punch and works perfectly. Only on complaint…… for power, the power port is about as much help as a screen door on a submarine. It becomes loose and causes issues. Get the warranty and don't let there be a lot of pressure on the cord by letting it hang from the unit or use to much pressure plugging in the connection. Barring the power connection, this things works great! And, eliminates the need to have a cord….. which is the entire purpose!! Have fun and play hard!!!!!!

My units power supply broke the first time I used it. I was skeptical on the durability of the power supply to begin with. I would never trust this for live situations. I will stick to my cables.
Very Easy to use, but there is a trade off for a non backpac

Didn't make it a full week before it "red ringed" on me. I updated firmware and it still won't work. Transmitter is totally dead and will not charge. Do not buy this! It seems like a good deal, but unfortunately it's not. Google the issues with this product on the Line 6 Forums. Steer clear.
Perfect for a church bassist / worship leader.

I love the plug and play simplicity with the Line 6. It has a sturdy build quality and maintains a reliable connection on the platform.
