Works better than expected.

I'm a gigging musician, and I have a family at home that needs sleep at night. I can play this through headphones, I can plug it into my small mixer and play at low volume, or I can plug it into my bands pa and play live with it. It works pretty good for all three actually. I figured it would be great for practice, and I was right. Simple and intuitive. They released an editor program for it so you can get to every single parameter you need. Don't get me wrong, I love my physical real amps, especially the tubers, but this thing shocked me when I tried to use it live. I built myself a few patches and laid out the pedal as I wanted and I'll be darned it sounded way better and authentic than I had expected. First gig I tried to use it on, I liked it so much I just used it the whole 4 hours. And been using it at gigs ever since. Very well worth the amount of money even just for practicing. I think if I had to be absolutely picky, the only only downside if at all for me would be I do wish it had an xlr out (not necessary) and possibly an effects loop. But that's just being picky lol. All in all fantastic product at a fantastic price. Built in effects sound fine to me. I used it at a jam last and my friends were eyeballing it and talking about how it impressed them, and they're thinking about nabbing one. Thanks line 6 and gc for the affordable modelling option.

I would not buy this product again

I printed out a ton of instructions to be able to understand all of the features of this pedal. It was extremely difficult to use let alone try to save any presets on it .Some of the sounds I was looking for were accessable at one time - but when I tried to access them again I couldn't remember how. Just way too complicated- better off buying a few separate pedals or even a modelling amp.

I'm just getting started with Line 6 POD express guitar effects pedal, but have successfully connected it between my electric guitar and amplifier, and used it with headphones and no amplifier. I use a power cube, so I don't have to mess with batteries. Lots of builtin fun effects. I wish software updates could be done from my phone, but a computer is currently required for that. The included forty something page owner manual is very helpful. Looking forward to using the looper, and sourcing audio tracks from my phone. I primarily use it for practice, and to record ideas to share with friends.

I'm not sure where all the good reviews are coming from. This pedal features 7 amp models of which only the clean is any good. The others are all muddy and harsh sounding. The reverb and effects are fine but without a good overdrive sound to me this pedal is worthless.

I bought this pedal for multiple applications. I wanted something with onboard effects that could serve as an audio interface; I also wanted to double my pedalboard so I could have a backup, so that I could add various effects in a small footprint, and so that I could jam with others.

Compact and versatile. Battery life is minimal, not practical for gigs without a power supply. Foot switch functions seem to randomly move, requiring unplugging to reset to the default function. I paid full price and within months (too late to return), found sales for $50 off.

Looks like everything has to be changed by hand. How do I change a setting by foot

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
You're correct that the Line 6 POD Express Guitar is a compact, hands-on pedal and doesn't support deep foot-controlled parameter editing like some multi-effects units. However, it does allow a limited amount of control by foot: Here's what you can change by foot: 1. Preset Switching (Footswitch Tap) Tap the footswitch to cycle through the four onboard presets. Press and hold the footswitch to enter tuner mode. 2. Expression Pedal Control (optional) If you connect an external expression pedal (via the EXP jack), you can control: Volume, wah, or other assignable parameters, depending on the preset. The expression pedal function is preset-dependent and not customizable from the unit itself. To change other settings (amps, effects, EQ, etc.): You’ll need to turn the knobs by hand.
