    Will this work with a line 6 HD 500?

    The Line 6 DC-1 power supply will not work with the Line 6 HD500. The DC-1 is a 9V DC power supply. The Line 6 POD HD500 (and HD500X) requires 9V AC, not DC, and it draws at least 3A of current.

    The Line 6 DC-1 power supply is a 9V AC (not DC) adapter, and it was specifically designed for some of Line 6's older gear—including the original Line 6 POD (the "bean" shaped one). So yes, if you have the original Line 6 POD (POD 1.0 or POD 2.0), the DC-1 will work, as long as it provides 9V AC at 2000mA (2A) and uses the correct barrel connector (2.5mm inner diameter, center-positive). However, double-check your POD model. Some later Line 6 devices use 9V DC instead of AC, and using an AC supply with those could damage the unit.
