For a beginner like myself, this is a great Uke. The price is right, especially if you don't know if the Uke is your thing or not. I love it! Like others have said, it is a good idea to invest in a pair of better strings AND be sure to give it a day or two of tuning. I had problems with the strings stretching at first, but now it holds a great tune. Buy it.

I got this ukulele about a year ago and it was a decent beginner uke. It wouldn't hold a tune, after a song or two I would have to re tune it. It looks nice online, but it looks kind of cheesy/cheap once you see it. If you (like I did) know you will stick with it, spend a few more bucks and get a nicer one. I only had it for a couple of months before it got stepped on and broke, but it was fun while it lasted.

Was very excited when I had read review and ordered. Opened it and it has a bunch of scratches already on it. It will not stay tuned and just about everything on it falls apart.

First off, the shipping was excellent! Most items I buy from Guitar Center show up 3-4 days late but this showed up 2 days early with standard shipping! Out of the box, the nylon strings are stiff and need stretching. People that review this item state that there are tuning problems when it says in the manual that there will be until the strings break in. I spent a good half day tuning it but by the end of the day it was perfectly in tune and has stayed in tune since. There are some quality issues present but nothing significant or major to effect the tone or playability. All in all, if you are thinking about learning to play the ukelele then this is a great buy but this is not reccommended for avid or expert players.

I sent this Ukulele to my son, an Army private in Afghanistan. He tells me it made him popular amongst his other platoon members. He's been leading sing-alongs.
