The LP LPM199 Mini Tunable Bongos prove that size isn't everything. This compact percussion instrument modeled after LP's iconic Generation II Bongos are crafted from premium siam oak (commonly known as Rubberwood tree) and equipped with natural calfskin drumheads for authentic tone. Now musicians and hobbyists alike can enjoy the musicality of bongos wherever they go, thanks to a portable 4" height and non-slip rubber bottom.

Replicate Iconic Sound in a Miniature Package

While the LPM199 bongos are scaled down to just 3.5" and 4.125", they mirror the construction and tuning capabilities of their full-size counterparts. The result is a crisp, resonant tone that would impress even the most discerning percussionist. Four chrome-plated tension rods on each drum head allow for precise tuning so you can replicate the iconic bongo sound or craft your own signature tone.

Premium Materials for Superior Sound

LPM199 Mini Tunable Bongos are crafted from high-quality Siam oak, a dense hardwood prized for its acoustic properties, and fitted with natural calfskin drum heads. These premium materials provide the rich, warm tone associated with traditional bongos. The calfskin heads are also highly responsive, capturing every nuance of your playing technique. While compact, these bongos make no compromises when it comes to materials and musical performance.

Take the Music With You

Weighing in at just 1.5 pounds, the LPM199 bongos are perfectly portable for playing on the go. Their 4" height allows them to fit comfortably in small spaces, so you can make music wherever inspiration strikes. The non-slip rubber bottom prevents the bongos from shifting around and marring surfaces. Now you can enjoy playing bongos anytime, anywhere.

LPM199-AW Mini tunable bongos

Looking for a set of bongos, salesman/percussionist Mike Angelucci at the Plymouth Meeting store demonstrated this set for me. The calf skin heads and the tunable feature verify this is not a toy.I was so impressed with the quality and sound, I had Mike demonstrate its' bigger brother bongo model LPP601.I was sold. I bought both models in "natural". The mini has 2 grooves around them while the full size has 1 groove. Nice touch. I also bought the LP532 bag for the full size set. I can't find a LP custom bag for the minis.Because of its' size it should of came with one for free as part of a package. LP should make a bag for the minis as well as a bracket where you can mount the minis on top of the full size bongos. LP are you listening ? I would say the best feature of the minis is its' size. You can take them practically anywhere; work, school, car [not while your driving !]...enjoy

Don't buy this!!!

Extremly small and difficult to get any sound out of. Going to give them to my grand daughter. Her hands are small enough and maybe she can play them when she comes over. Not worth paying shipping to return them. GC customer service was not helpful when I wanted to re-order so I am pretty much done doing business with them. So long!!

I was dumb and played these with drum sticks and broke the head. than I was smart and cut out some cutting board plastic the size of the wood and put the head back over it. Now they are awesome with drumsticks and the skins do not even get damaged with the plastic cutting board under them. tones of sounds, great to whack on.

These mini bongos are very pretty and well made. The sound is good, BUT they are tiny. Even too small for some children's hands. However, my six year old loved them.
