Description
Giovanni Compact Congas with Stand
This uniquely designed, shallow, portable pair of congas was the winner of a 2003 MiPA award. It includes two conga sizes: 11" and 11-3/4". Constructed with a special aluminum alloy frame, these congas feature synthetic heads for tuning stability and may be played onstage, in the studio, or anywhere that quiet practice is necessary or a full-sized conga is impractical. Mountable on any standard snare stand, they can be used separately or incorporated into a full percussion setup where space is at a premium.
Compact Conga Mounting System
You can securely position the two Compact Congas with the LP Compact Conga Mounting System bracket. Designed for easy placement in complex drum sets and multi-percussion setups, the mounting system includes a tilting mechanism that places the portable congas in optimum position for playing with hands or sticks. The unit can be used as a single compact conga mount and will adapt to various racks and stands. The whole assembly can be put in place in minutes.
Compact Bongos with Mount
LP Compact Bongos project an amazing range of tones that belie their reduced size. Made from a special aluminum alloy, the Compact Bongos feature full-size 7-1/4" and 8-5/8" heads and are drum key tunable. Their compact design allows easy placement in drum kits or expansive percussion setups where space is an issue. And the sound is amazingly close to that of standard bongos. They respond well to intricate hand patterns and can also be played to good effect with drumsticks. Includes mounting post that fits on the included conga stand base and most bongo stand bases.

Price is a little steep, but GC sells it as cheap as anybody does.... and they are very convenient. Stand seems heavy enough to take the beating, which I was a little concerned about. No regrets. They are just about exactly what I expected.
Great for practicing

The low tones are lacking, but it's great for practice. I have the Pearl travel congas as well and I disagree with many other reviews I've read that they sound better than these. Also, these congas weigh much less as portable congas should be. The hardware that comes with this set is also of very good quality. My only gripe about this product is that it is way overpriced.
