Overview

The Kentucky KM-150 mandolin is a fabulous value available in an all-solid, traditionally designed, A-style instrument that beautifully combines period-correct vintage specifications with an amazingly affordable price. When it comes to tone and playability, the KM-150 also excels. To achieve the best tone and volume possible, select solid spruce - meticulously hand-carved and graduated - is used for the top, while select solid maple is used for the back and sides. A solid maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and traditional snakehead-shaped peghead is attached to the body by a modified dovetail neck-body joint not only adds to the authentic look, but also has a comfortable shape that is easy to play, and offers a lifetime of serviceability. Top everything off with a set of accurate, open-geared tuners, an adjustable rosewood bridge and tuning will be easy, accurate and with perfect intonation every time.

Solid Mandolin

By jason cargill

from Arlington, TX

Comments about Kentucky KM-150 Standard A-Model All-Solid Mandolin:

What can I say, I think I got more than what I paid for. This Mando is very well build and sounds great. I did the bridge setup myself after watching some online tutorials and couldn't be happier. It was very well packaged and in perfect condition when I received it today. Seems to be staying in tune since this morning and the color is great. I got to play a mid-high level fender mandolin the other day and this one feels no different, seeing as this is a beginners instrument.

Comments about Kentucky KM-150 Standard A-Model All-Solid Mandolin:

My wife surprised me with my Kentucky for Christmas and I love it! I am a guitar player but crippling arthritis has slowed that somewhat. I can comfortably play my KM-150 for longer periods.

Needs more than just a set up.

    By James Weinbeck

    from Winchester VA

Comments about Kentucky KM-150 Standard A-Model All-Solid Mandolin:

Tuners sloppy or way too tight. Needs a new set. Fret ends sharper than acceptable for a cheap instrument. Tall frets that wont hammer down. Needs a fret dress. Tail piece cover keeps falling off. Took the pick guard off because that what I prefer only to find a major ding.
