Description
The K-1 Koa Tenor Ukulele from Kanile'a is crafted in Hawaii by a small family-run business on the island of Hawaii. The K-1 series of ukuleles all share the same high-quality construction and tonewoods. The tenor body is made of select koa and finished in a UV high-gloss.

The top on the K-1 features utilizes Kanile'a's own TRU bracing system for impressive sound. The neck is South American mahogany with a rosewood fretboard and Paua Abalone position dots. All of the appointments are top-notch, including the NuBone nut and saddle, custom geared tuners, rosewood bridge with black bridge pins, and Kanile'a's unique rounded back. Includes hard canvas case.

    This is a great sounding ukulele! I agree with the previous review that the description is inaccurate. the instrument finish is matt/satin (not high gloss) and the case is a foam case (not hard shell). I was a little annoyed at first - I suggest that Guitar Center updates the description. However, for me it's all about the sound. The quality of this instrument is great, rarely requires re-tuning, and the sound is beautiful. It is my favorite use of all I have played.

    As you will see from the photos below, the product description as of 06/29/18 was it came with UV Gloss Finish and Hardshell plush case. From my pictures you will see that the Uke doesn't show any glossiness even held out in the light. Also the "hardshell plush case" isn't true hardshell. It's basically a foam case. I guess they said "natural" at the title and "canvass case" at the paragraph description so they can claim that they wrote the right description, but the bullets that followed did say UV gloss finish and Hardshell plush case. As for the sound, it's the best-sounding uke I have ever played and I have a few more expensive ukes in my collection than this. If you're buying this for the sound, then go for it. I can almost guarantee that you're gonna be impressed. It's just that if they keep the description as it is then prepare to get something that looks like something else. Normally I wouldn't complain as I'm after the sound quality and it sounds absolutely amazing but I was made to exoect something with a glossy finish and a hardshell case.
