Which Kali Speaker Should I Buy?

Kali Audio IN-8 2nd Wave
Description
The IN-8 is part of Kali’s 2nd Wave of loudspeakers which allows for 12dB less self-noise, while increasing max SPL by 3dB. The tuning has been refined for smoother HF response and the boundary EQs have been updated to reflect common real-world use cases. Physical improvements include lighter transducer cones for better transient response and upgraded cabinet construction for greater reliability. Off-axis lobing that is unavoidable in a 2-way system is virtually eliminated with the IN-8. Substantial work was done to optimize the mid-range driver not only for its own acoustic performance, but also for its role as the waveguide for the tweeter. The shape is very precise to allow for controlled directivity at mid range to tweeter crossover, ensuring accurate summing both on- and off-axis. Excursion on the midrange is limited to less than 1 mm peak to peak, so that the oscillation of the mid-range does not have a negative effect on the tweeter. On top of this, the IN-8 incorporates all of the benefits of Kali's Lone Pine series monitors. These include optimized woofers for powerful bass, a front-firing port tube and boundary compensation EQs.

Quality design and materials for sure, very impressive. This speaker has incredible definition and the mods and upper mids are so clear compared to my prior 2- way monitors. Turned them up pretty loud and at high volume still clear and no harshness. Man for the money you can't go wrong!

Never Going Back to 2 way after mixing on these.

The Kalis are awesome for the price. I took a gamble by exchanging my Yamaha HS8 for these, since the Kalis are 3 way and at an unbeatable price. I also considered Dynaudio LYD 48 3-way price $1199.00, still is an chance I may buy. I will be doing a comparison soon with Kali and Dyn audios. The separation of the Kali 3 ways compared to my HS8 is clearer, less muddy and all frequencies, lows, mids and high frequencies are heard with better clarity. No Brainer right, 3 separate drivers/amps. Its only a slight difference between them . My only gripe of the Kalis is the low power output and I would have to buy a subwoofer or a 3 way Monitor with a lower bass extension to mix hip hop music sub bass between 20 - 36 hertz, but what can you expect from a $400 speaker. These give an excellent good reference mix at low levels though. I do not get any hiss or interference as many review stated on other sites, people should have better grounding and a better setup, spend the money, buy what's necessary to achieve this. They are call power conditioners. After hearing these I can never go back to 2 way, only 3 way. I highly recommend the Kalis, the price is a steal.

I love these! Just like most pieces of quality gear that are keepers, you can tell right away that these things are worth it. I spent the weekend listening to all kinds of music, including some of my own work. These make listening fun. I mostly work on rock, metal and punk music, but it was cool having these monitors walk paces through all genres. From hearing bass drops in well recorded hip hop and rap, to the most delicate strums in country and classical. The imaging, detail and punch are unmatched with anything near this price range. These compete with the big boys at a fraction of the price.
