KORG
Description
While the words portable and affordable describe the K-Series USB-MIDI Studio Controllers, they by no means define them. The Korg K-49 USB MIDI keyboard controller features solid, full-size keys, and a selection of four velocity curves (including a fixed level”great for mimicking organs and early mono synths) that tailor the keyboard response to match any performer.

For a controller in this class, the Korg K49 is graced with an unusual variety of sophisticated controllers. Performers will be happy to see a set of Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels just like those on Korg's RADIAS, MS2000B and microKORG synths. You'll also find an assignable slider, two assignable switches on the side and a foot switch input on the back panel.

The Korg keyboard's innovative ClickPoint joystick can perform double duty working as a traditional X/Y joystick or navigate your softsynth or DAW software by acting as a USB mouse.

Additionally, the 49-key keyboard comes with a free software editor that allows you to create and save customized controller assignments and includes a number of pre-programmed templates scenes. This can be a huge time saver and get you up and running with your choice of software synths and music production programs.

Well, to be competely honest with you guys this product is just not the best. For one thing I can make something better in Phu's art class then this...out of clay. I'd stick to the brand Korg, might be a little bit more money but it is worth every penny. I mean just ask Koch, she said this product aint happenin' herself.

Many may think this keyboard is somewhat cheap because of it not having the "knobs" or other mindless switches. I purchased this thinking that it would be sub-par, but only to find it its a very responsive and good feeling keyboard. Its not for those who want to instanly jump on the computer and make "loops" or beats. Its a keyboard that is ment to be played with proper software. It might be a slight disapointment when you recieve the software, because the M1 is a "lite" edition, but this software can be more of a guide to allow you experience some of the best software out there. If you really planned on composing music you would not wait on software from a music hardware company, you would buy your own. Overall this keyboard is perfectly suited, it has a pitch and mod wheel, which feel great ,and other assignable controllers. To be honest i never really use the controllers much while playing its very taxing to turn knobs at the same time, and i think others you play music rather than notes would agree. If your looking for a quality, and well priced keyboard go for it. If your looking for a toy with gadgets dont =).

I bought this to creat loops and things on the PC, but also to learn piano. This does everything that is promised. I would suggest buying other software than what is included for creating loops. I received a "lite" version that limits tracks to the point that it is not useful. Hardware works great on PC and MAC.
