Simpler and smaller pickup

I prefer the KNA UP-1 pickup for its simplicity, less obtrusive design, and smaller size compared to the UP-2. I leave the units attached to my classical guitars and ukuleles using the included blue tack adhesive, which is safe for polyurethane finishes. Because sticky tack is meant as a non-permanent adhesive, you will have to hold the pickup down as you insert the 3.5mm plug. I also recommend that you find a method to lightly secure the cable to the side of the instrument to prevent it from tapping on the soundboard when you shift positions. I chose to use clear mini suction cups as shown in the attached photo. The UP-1 has no volume control, which I prefer, as I like to manage the instrument's volume on my amp or its app. Not having the control also means that I have one less thing to fail. The wooden housing also helps it blend in better with the instrument, which is a nice touch. Overall, the KNA UP-1 is a great option for those looking for a simple, unobtrusive, and affordable pickup.

Sounds great installed in my cajons, and useful as a trigger in a DAW.
Waste of money, spend $50 more and buy a good microphone

I have tried to use this pickup on different instruments and have yet to have it stay on one instrument. I can not comment on how the pickup sounds since it falls off whatever instrument i put it on before i can even turn my amp on. If i could give a zero star rating i would. This is one of the most useless musical accessories i have ever bought in my 35 years of buying instruments and accessories .
Very good pickup. For better results use double-sided tape.

When I first used this pickup with the included rubber pad, I noticed I was getting very low output and had to crank the amp up. The rubber mounting pads absorb too much of the sound and was causing low output. But after I switched to double sided tape instead of the included rubber pad, the sound is much brighter and louder. The difference is night and day. I don't recommend double sided tape unless you don't care about residue being left on the instrument, but if you want closer contact and the highest possible output and clarity, then use either double sided tape or thinner mounting pads such as 3M mounting tape that comes in a roll and cut it to fit.
I love this thing!

I discovered this pickup while surfing the web late at night. Impressed with the sound that it provides when placed on my ukulele. Comes with a piece of adhesive putty and detachable cable. I also enjoyed the size as it is fairly compact.
