Jackson

collapse expand iconDescription

Jackson's X Series Soloist SLX DX Camo electric guitar takes shredding to the extreme. This metal beast is built for speed and comfort with an ergonomically curved poplar body and through-body maple neck reinforced with graphite for rock-solid stability. Active Jackson humbucking pickups provide an expansive voice loaded with crunchy, full-bodied tone ideal for brazen lead work.

Floyd Rose Special Bridge Enables Lightning-Fast Tremolo Action

The Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo bridge system offers superior string stability and dynamic tremolo action. Unleash blistering leads, dive bombs and squeals with precision and power. Once tuned, the bridge locks the strings at the nut and bridge for rock-solid intonation through heavy playing.

Compound Radius Fingerboard Encourages Low Action and Fast Playing

The 12"-16" compound radius bound laurel fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out approaching the neck joint for low action bends without fretting out. Shredders will love the fast, slick feel of this fingerboard.

Powerful Pickups Provide Meaty Tone for Aggressive Playing

Active Jackson humbucking pickups power this ax with an expansive voice loaded with crunchy, full-bodied tone ideal for brazen lead work or assertive rhythm runs. The tone is fully customizable with three-way pickup switching and dedicated volume and tone controls.

Distinctive Style Inspires Aggressive Playing

The X Series Soloist SLX DX Camo is dressed for combat in a Multi-Color Camo finish with matching pointed Jackson headstock and black hardware. This distinctive style inspires aggressive playing.

I've had this only a couple days, but I absolutely love it. I've never been disappointed with a Jackson, and this is no different. At first I didn't like the gloss finish on the back of the guitar, particularly on the neck, as I felt like it slowed my left hand down. But after a couple sessions, I realized it was just a small adjustment to make it feel like my hand wasn't sticking, and now it feels lightning fast, like I'm accustomed to with Jackson. Obviously, you could spend more money, but for this price, the guitar sounds fantastic. It really shines playing thrash, sounds bright and the harmonics are good too. I would highly recommend for a mid range guitar. Looking forward to getting the winter camo, but come on Jackson, why is that the only model that doesn't have a bound fretboard?!!

I have had this guitar about a week now. I love the neck it is smooth and plays really well. Fast action. The pickups are great I was curious about the Jackson branded active and how they would sound. Perfect pickups for high gain very tight sounding no mud. The one thing, some people who dislike the Brand that uses the 81/85 might not like the Jackson pickups, Or people who prefer passive pickups. The pickups do remind me of the 81/85's but a tad brighter. After a quick setup to my liking it plays really great. I did have to spray a little Deoxit in the pickups switch it had some dust effecting it but the spray cleaned it.

The Road Runner RRMEG ABS Molded Electric Guitar Case would be a good choice.

Question - Why is the price 100 dollars more for the vibrant camo (orange, black, white) vs the winter camo (which is $849.99)? Is the color the only difference on the guitars? Thanks!
