Jackson
Description
The all-new Jackson X Series Soloist SL5X model is loaded with all the player-centric features desired by today's fastest shredders.

The first of its kind in the Jackson lineup, the SL5X features an HSH pickup configuration with Duncan DesignedHB-103 bridge and neck humbucking pickups and a Duncan Designed HR-101M Hot Rails middle pickup, giving this beast its potent bite. Tone can be dialed in with five-way blade switching and single volume and tone controls, while a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo bridge system provides superior string stability, extended sustain and dynamic tremolo action.

Affordably priced, the SL5X also features a poplar body coupled with a through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint headstock. Hosting 24 jumbo frets, its 12"-16" bound compound radius laurel fingerboard with pearloid sharkfin inlays curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out.

Ergonomic and stylish, the SL5X is offered in stunning Burst finishes with black hardware and a Jackson pointed 6-in-line headstock. Case sold separately.

Get one before they're all gone. You won't regret it.

Pro, 1. Great neck and fret work. 2. Has jumbo sized fret for easy playing and players that love to shred. 3. Comfortable body shape. 4. AMT reasonably priced compared to some of the other SLX models. 5. Has a Duncan Designed HB 103B, HB 103N and a Duncan Designed dual rail single coil. 6. Not too heavy so it's easy on the back. 7. Has a Floyd Rise Special double locking tremolo system for tuning stability and tremolo effects. 8. Has decent inlime tuners and a locking nut. 9. Sounds great. Cons, 1. There was hardly information to be found on this guitar. I even went to YouTube and no one even bothered doing a review. I may do one on my channel for that reason. 2. The one pro is also a con. Thr Floyd Rose is a Special, not a 1000 series nor an original Schaller so don't expect it to stay in tune very well without some tweaking. 3. The the bridge and neck pickups are modeled after the Seymour Duncan SH-6 Super Distortion, but the neck pickup sounds more like a Jazz model instead. Not really much of a con though. 4. The middle pickup can interfere with picking if not lowered. BTW I don't have a use for it do I set mine low. 5. This model has been discontinued so good luck with support other than the place you bought it from. I'm not sure if Jackson offers any support because I couldn't find this model on their website. I got this from a pawn shop for a far cheaper price than on here, but I figured I'd give my 2 cents because for what this guitar offers even with the short comings it's a gem.

Great guitar! The pickups needed a little more sustain....

The pickups needed much more sustain for my taste in genres, but it is no doubt a great guitar! I took it back and got an SL2 and now I'm happy!

I have always wanted a Jackson so I decided to do it. I finally added a Jackson to my collection. The neck is smooth like silk. The fret work is great, the sound is exactly what I would except. Has minor fret buzzing and could use a pro set up of you can't do it. The action is low and that's somewhat common. It's a give and take,, buzz buzz.

  • An awesome guitar

This is my second electric guitar, and so far it has exceeded my expectations. The sound is great, the fretboard feels smooth and easy to navigate, as well as being forgiving if finger placement isn't perfect. I love the style of the guitar as well. As someone who just is learning at home, this is a highly motivating piece of gear to own.

  • I would definitely recommend this Guitar

This was Just a Great Jackson all around you just can't beat the price point. Has great sound quality and comes with a great set up including Seymour Duncan pick ups and a nice Floyd Rose Tremelo system. And it is very easy to play and to me the possibilities are endless with this Guitar. My Favorite out of all my guitars I even like it better than my Fender Strat and Telecaster. I hope I can pop a picture in here of mine. Awesome quality and great Deal. Thank You

This guitar is excellent for beginner to intermediate players looking to shred. The pickups really have great natural harmonics and are spectacular at capturing the "Jackson" tone.
