collapse expand iconDescription

A co-founder of New York “Big Four” thrash metal institution Anthrax, guitarist Scott Ian has pummeled audiences with his huge sound and formidable chops for close to four decades.

Experience the veritable thrash godfather’s signature tone with the X Series Scott Ian King V KVXT, offering a 24.75” scale length, mahogany body, through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint. The 12”-16” compound radius laurel fingerboard features 22 jumbo frets and pearloid block inlays.

Its versatile voice is powered by a pair of Duncan Designed humbucking pickups— a biting HB-103B humbucking bridge pickup is matched to a powerful HB-103N humbucking neck pickup for articulate tone.

This signature axe also features a Jackson compensated and adjustable TOM-style bridge with anchored tailpiece, Jackson die-cast tuners and pointed 6-in-line-headstock.

The KVXT is available in Candy Apple Red with a 3-ply white/black/white pickguard, chrome hardware, black dome-style single volume and tone controls and a black three-way toggle switch. Case sold separately.

I have been playing this King V for a year now and it is my favorite of all my Jacksons. It came flawless and did not take much set up. Stays in tune perfectly, sounds great, looks great and feels great. Everything about this one is awesome. I highly recommend it.

This was an impulse purchase. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I thought it looked cool and I'm a big Scott Ian fan so why not? First, this guitar is insanely well made. I hove other Jacksons and I like the brand overall but this is a cut above. Fit, finish, fretwork, everything. Fantastic. I found I had to spend some time getting the height of the pickups exactly in the sweet spot but once I found it I'm happy enough with the pickups that I wont be replacing them. They provide a somewhat dry 'modern' tone that fits with the look and feel of the instrument. I've been deliberately playing other non metal styles of music on it just to see how it behaves. It holds up nicely with clean bright tones for country and jazz, etc. It's also really comfortable. Only thing I can think of on the down side is Jackson needs to offer an affordable case/gigbag option.

An absolute beast of an instrument. Once i found out Scott Ian himself uses the lower end model's and not just the stupid money custom shop ones, I was all in. This plays and sounds fantastic. And the looks are superb. Well crafted and extremely playable. Not top heavy. Extremely well balanced. Play it classical style sitting down or just have it hang as you stand. This isn't just a rhythm machine, the pickups are great for leads. Thought I would need to upgrade the pickups since these are just duncan designed... But nope. Killer sound from clean, crunch, head crushing or whatever tone you're looking for. Buy it!

This guitar is so smooth and comfortable to play. I shopped V's for about a year before I pulled the trigger on this one. Pound for pound it's an awesome instrument. Upon arrival it had poor string quality and feet buzz. After I plugged in I noticed the Duncan's were poor quality. Once I adjusted the truss rod, changed the strings, and gutted the pickups it came alive!
