Jackson

Description

One of the most influential and respected players in the world, Marty Friedman's impactful and game-changing contributions to heavy metal and guitar in general continue to inspire generations of musicians and music fans to this day. He defined modern guitar playing with Jason Becker in Cacophony, was a key element in the wildly successful rise of thrash pioneers Megadeth, and with his "Marty-esque" improvisations and exotic fusion of Eastern and Western music, has achieved global success with his 13 solo albums.

Jackson is incredibly proud and honored to continue a longstanding relationship with Friedman by collaborating with the virtuoso on the X Series Signature Marty Friedman MF-1. This 24.75"-scale signature model is loaded with great features to match the demanding needs of an elite and intricate player like Friedman—but at an affordable price. Some of its fine features include a mahogany body with 3/4" maple top, one-piece mahogany set neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint, bound 12" radius laurel fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and pearloid block inlays.

Marty Friedman dual EMG MF signature humbucking pickups deliver a sound that sings and screams. This axe is also equipped with two volume and two tone white speed controls as well as a three-way toggle switch to wrangle all of the subtle nuances out of your guitar tone, as well as a Jackson compensated and adjustable bridge and die-cast locking tuners for increased sustain and tuning stability.

A case is sold separately.

I bought this guitar direct from the warehouse without playing which I never do, and couldn't be happier! Great tone from the EMG passives with both my Helix LT and my 6505+, not super heavy and is comfortable for long sets. Quickly became my main guitar.

  • I would buy again

It's a great guitar. Sounds amazing but after playing for a few hours it tends to get very heavy on shoulders and back but overall a great built guitar!

  • One is all you will need. It is a very fine tool.

Great design for fast accurate playing. Very stylish. I like that the pick-ups do not need batteries. Jackson needs more fixed bridge guitars at an affordable price like thus one. For the exclusiveness of the guitar, a fitted case would be nice. Maybe with Jackson on the front if it. Nevertheless it is awesome.

  • Great guitar, but Jackson needs to up the quality control

I tried the display one and it buzzed too much, then I ordered one that did not buzz, but came with a broken switch. Then they sent me a new one that came buzzing and with a crack on the body. Now I'm waiting for the GC tech to move the good switch from the bad guitar to the good one so I have a good instrument. Pick ups are amazing.

  • I would buy this again

The Musician's Gear electric case will work, or they also make one for Les Pauls that will work as well.
