JHS Pedals Kilt 10 Distortion Pedal - Polished Aluminum

A decade ago, the Kilt was born from a simple but demanding brief: Create a dirt pedal that could cover every gain sound a working guitarist might need, without sacrificing clarity, feel or musicality. Over the years, it earned a reputation as one of JHS Pedals’ most versatile and best-loved drives, prized for its dynamic response, powerful toggle-based voicing and ability to move effortlessly from subtle breakup to all-out fuzz. The JHS Pedals Kilt 10 Distortion celebrates that legacy with a refined circuit, expanded headroom and a refreshed aesthetic, delivering smoother attack, enhanced articulation and a dramatically more usable gain range. With updated clipping, improved toggle behavior and performance-ready switching, the Kilt 10 represents the most complete and expressive evolution of this modern classic.
Refined Gain Structure and Enhanced Clarity for Expressive, Mix-Ready Tones
The Kilt 10 is built around an updated clipping section that delivers a more responsive and musical feel at every setting. Increased output headroom allows the pedal to breathe naturally, whether you’re gently pushing a clean amp or stacking into an already driven signal. The reworked gain control unlocks a remarkably usable low-gain range in the first quarter of its sweep, providing transparent breakup and touch-sensitive grit that were previously out of reach. As gain increases, the pedal transitions smoothly into rich distortion and compressed saturation without losing definition. Subtle refinements to the high end ensure improved articulation and cut, keeping complex chords clear, intricate picking intact and single-note lines focused and expressive. The Tone control offers a wide, amp-friendly sweep, preserving your guitar’s voice while adding depth, punch and harmonic complexity.
Signature Toggle Voicing for Overdrive, Distortion and Gated Fuzz
The Kilt’s defining toggle system remains central to its identity, offering a wide range of textures through intuitive control. The G1 and G2 toggles work together to provide four distinct clipping configurations, spanning low-gain overdrive, saturated distortion and the aggressive, gated fuzz tones that made the original famous. Engaging G1 increases drive and harmonic density, while G2 pushes the circuit further into fuzz-like compression and bite. With both toggles up, the Kilt 10 unleashes a massive, sputtering fuzz that feels raw and unapologetic. The refined Low-Cut toggle tightens the low end for improved clarity and punch, making the pedal exceptionally compatible with a broad range of amplifiers, modelers and modern rigs.
Performance-Ready Controls and Limited-Edition Design
The Kilt 10 retains its familiar, player-friendly layout while benefiting from thoughtful refinements. The Volume control offers ample output for boosting without extreme settings, Gain delivers its newly expanded and musical sweep and Tone shapes brightness with enhanced balance and clarity. The proprietary JHS Red Remote system allows the G2 toggle to be engaged remotely, enabling instant transitions between overdrive, distortion and fuzz mid-song—effectively turning the Kilt 10 into multiple gain stages at the tap of a switch. Finished in polished aluminum with classic Expandora-style knobs and an updated icon that nods to both its heritage and 10-year milestone, the JHS Kilt 10 is a limited anniversary edition capped at just 5,000 units worldwide. It’s not about reinventing the Kilt—it’s about perfecting it.
