  • The Uke Everyone Needs!

First off, you have to like nylon (aka: cat gut) strings. If so, playing this uke is a breeze. No pick is needed unless you want to add a little more volume. This uke puts out good volume acoustically but if you want to add a pick up, it would be simple. I use a small, round Dean Markley pup that sticks to the soundboard by the middle of the bridge and the tone is amazing. Finger picking is fun, too. It's light-weight so no strap is needed unless you need full use of the strumming arm. The forearm/strumming arm and the fretting hand hold it stable. The neck is smooth and the action is great. The frets could use a little more filing but still no discomfort while playing. I love the satin finish which brings out the color and grain of the mahogany. This uke came with Aquila Nylgut Concert strings which have a great, mellow tone, not too bright. Do keep in mind they're like classical guitars so you need to give the strings time to stretch so the tuning will be stable. Luckily, these strings were already stretched so I had no issues. The tuners keep the uke in tune and have a great ratio. The walnut fingerboard looks/feels great and the walnut bridge looks awesome sitting on the mahogany top. Give this little axe a try and compare it with others. You'll be amazed!
