All Ibanez Premium series are manufactured with select tonewoods, high-profile electronics, hardware and dedicated skills of craftsmanship and care in details for your musical journey. The richness of sound, stunning appearance and unrivalled playability of the Ibanez Premium series will open the gate of your reservoir of inspiration.

One of the representative Premium models, S1070PBZ comes with a wide range of distinctive features that will motivate any guitarist. The guitar features a 16 mm poplar burl, walnut, curly maple and panga panga top and African mahogany body with a beautiful natural binding. It offers not just aesthetic looks but also warm and rich sound. It comes with an 11-piece Wizard neck made of panga panga, maple, walnut and purpleheart, contributing to the neck’s extreme rigidity and increasing sustain. The Indian rosewood fretboard provides tight response and comes with stainless frets. Stainless frets are known for their bright tone and adding player-friendly features, such as long durability and a smoothness for note bending. The luminescent side dot inlay makes it easy for players to see in the dark, especially when on stage.

The DiMarzio Air Norton, True Velvet and The Tone Zone pickups offer depth, warmth and rich dynamics when combined with the 5-way pickup switch. This model adopts Belden wiring material and Copper shielding inside control cavity, so noiseless sound can be expected.

This model features the Ibanez a Edge-Zero II Tremolo, that provides exceptional tuning stability, precise intonation adjustment, and playing comfort. The Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads achieve incredible tuning stability, cutting down string-changing time.

A gig bag is included.

  • Awesome Axe - Ibanez Quality Rocks!!!!

This thing is a "G/Jem". I have an 80's Ibanez Jem and was wondering where the boys @ Ibanez have come with regard to updating such a high-quality flavor of this shredding-capable, tone-rich machine. They "nailed it" in my humble opinion. The update Floyd Rose Edge II is amazing.. Complete string dumps, and barely a few semi-tone tuning abuse repercussions. I suck @ playing in general, but I love the instrument. The stunning, and artistically-stained- panga-panga wood is an absolutely "gorgeous" finish for both the body-top and headstock trim. The multi-rare-wood laminated neck is absolute gorgeous and sustain-inducing. This is a both absolutely gorgeous, and very capable, musical instrument. ..'nuff said really Despite our recent supply chain issues, there is a reason that this bad-boy is often back-ordered. Thanks to Guitar Center for actually having this thing in-stock at the time for me to appreciate!!!

Great looks; very easy and smooth to play. All setting pickups sound great. Very good sustain for a bolt on neck and tremolo instrument. Tremolo system has some intrinsic issues; I have played other Floyd rose systems that have more tuning stability. Guitar should come with a manual and a case versus gig bag.

  • Guitar was shipped to me damaged.

The Guitar was shipped to me with a chipped headstock, a dented tremelo port that can't be screwed on, wood glue in the input slot, and worst of all a crack in the wood where the fretboard is bolted to the body.

  • This is by far the BEST Ibanez S Premium guitar ever made!!!

I thought I was buying a new guitar in a box never played, instead they sent me a used floor model that has been played along with a scuff on it a little dent and many little scratches and finger prints on it, and I did not get the all in one tool with this guitar, how disappointing!!! This is the second time this happened to me, not cool, shame on Guitar Center!!!

  • Amazing Value, Like a High-End Guitar

At this price point you are getting a guitar with attention to details. You can't get a better neck with better fretwork at this price.

  • Beautiful guitar, with only one flaw.

I haven't owned an Ibanez in more than 25 years, but when I saw this guitar, and read the specs, I knew I had to have it. The hardware is impeccable; DiMarzio pickups, Belden wiring, Gotoh locking tuners, Edge-Zero tremolo, Stainless Steel frets, 18mm neck thickness, luminescent side dot inlays, and that "S" series body! My only concern? It was assembled in Indonesia. However, I can safely put those fears to rest now, this guitar is incredible, they did an excellent job. The bad? Like a Gibson SG, this guitar is very thin, so much so that excessive pressure on the neck can affect tune. Just like the SG, it's not horrible, but it is there. Other than that, this guitar is an absolute powerhouse! The pickups sound spectacular, and the electronics are perfectly quiet, with no hiss whatsoever. The neck is super-fast, and the body fits perfectly against the body, and while it's thin, it sustains for days!

    1) Confused about the bridge: Hardware sections says: Gibralter Standard II-7 Features sections says: Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge Clearly one is wrong, assuming Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge is correct? 2) I always try guitars prior to purchasing, what happens if you get one in for me (So. Portland, ME), and I don't like it?

You are correct. I'll get that updated. And yes, you can have it shipped there and if you don't like it you can return it then and there.
