Bought this guitar thinking it was going to be just like my older ibanez. I was very wrong. I would recommend anyone who plays to at least compare this to a jackson dinky. Ibanez has really built a guitar that outshines all the rest.
A fabulous remake from the 80's

I bought and (regrettably) sold my original RG550 from the 80's. So when I ended up needing a full floating bridge, I started looking at this model first. I hate buying guitars sight unseen. Fortunately my local Guitar Center in Fountain Valley had both colors. I tried them both and the build quality, setup and playability was identical and nearly perfect. So I picked the blue one. I have to say I've played and owned many Ibanez guitars over the years and I've never found a bad one. And this is no exception. Keep in mind this is a full floating bridge. So things like string guage changes and intonation adjustments require a bit more effort. But the neck is smooth and flat, it has lot's of tone selection with the 3 pickups. It is designed to give you the most flexibility for speed and whatever guitar tricks are out there. I highly recommend this for today's shredders and anything 80's rock.
Great guitar except for the pickups.

Great guitar except I changed the Ibanez pickups in the guitar to the dimazio crunchlab pickup on the bridge, dimrzio liquidfer on the neck and put seymore Duncan hot rails in the middle.

What kind of guitar case do you recommend for this guitar
This guitar would be compatible with any standard electric guitar case. The Musician's Gear Deluxe Electric Guitar Case would be a good choice.submitted7 years ago
