Description
As heavy as it rocks, this Ibanez RG guitar is made of basswood, a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character. The guitar's flamed maple top not only adds beauty, but just a bit of extra brightness to make individual notes stand out. 24 frets offer you easy playing for leads and chords.
The IBZ V7 (Vintage 7) neck pickup is tight, but bright. Very dynamic for chording and rhythm. The IBZ V8 (Vintage 8) bridge pickup is a warm, yet articulate lead pickup with enhanced overtones. The RG3EXFM1 electric guitar has good harmonics without excessive brightness.
Since 1987, many players have selected Ibanez RG guitars as their weapon of choice for visiting sonic mayhem on the metal masses. With the right choice of pickups and flat, fast necks the RG3EXFM1 is crunching its way to classic status.

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!
I can not beilive the amazing quality I got from the price. At first I was turned on by the fact that it is one of Ibanez's only guitars without that wierd clamp tuning made for whammy bars. anyway I started to play and the EMG pickups were just finominal. but a secret that they don't tell you is that the back of the neck is actually flattened so that your thumb can glide along the neck and not lode its spot as well as creating a comfortable fit for your thumb. Therefore leading to playing stamina because your thumb won't be tired. All in all, A great guitar.

not what i expected
well. i got this thing this summer. and, its a disappointment to say the least. it sounds, muddy as hell on clean, and has absolutely no sustain whatsoever. i even tried installing new pickups to help solve the problem, but to no avail. i wouldn't recommend this guitar.

This instrument is the finest quality guitar I've ever had the fortune to purchase. If I had the choice between this guitar and a brand new Gibson Les Paul I would keep my guitar in a heartbeat. Great quality, awesome paint design, and absolutely perfect for all playing styles.
great bargain

Very good looking guitar. It has no pick guard. The dimensions are a little more compact than many "long horn" style guitar bodies. It is also lighter in weight. I play fingerstyle, and those are desirable features for me. I've had the guitar about 10 days and I have played it a lot. I am still messing with the setup but it was playable out of the box. It sounds good and stays in tune. It had a couple of small cosmetic blemishes... but over all it is a beauty and very comfortable. I bought this sight unseen and have zero regrets.
Top of the Line.

If you need a guitar and you're on a budget, this is for you. I know you've prolly read that a billion times, but here are legit reasons. The body is super comfy. The wood is high quality. The pickups are awesome, versatile, low noise. Thing can't leave it's tuning. I play in ranges from Drop A all the way to Standard, never left it's tuning. It's quite a heavy guitar, but that's a personal opinion and I say it's awesome. Bridge is easy to change strings. No complaints here, but for a change in tone, I'll be putting on some passive EMGS or Seymour Duncans. Get this guitar, won't regret it.

I have owned this guitar for 3 years and its just amazing how much it handles, I play it heavily almost every day & its is durable. Standard pick ups are great for anything, but I upgraded to active EMGs and its works great. The only thing I think would have made it a complete 5 star would be a tremolo system, but this is a great versatile weapon! LOVE IT, definitely recommend it!

This is only my 2nd electric guitar and Ive only been playing for about 5 and a half months self taught. Everyone sis im real good for being self taught, but seeing as ive only played for 4 months at the time i got this, i went with a cheaper guitar. This guitar has an amazing tone, great pickups, its all around a great guitar. And stays tuned very well. The only thing is the black & grey is a little darker, but still looks awesome. Great guitar for any type of music.

I bought this guitar from GC about a month ago and I can say it is everything I wanted plus tons more. The smooth looks and the awesome tone can't be beat by any guitar for this low of price. The 24 fret neck is great for playing leads, and the tone is perfect all the way up. The pickups are great for playing metal one instant and smooth blues the next. I would recommend this to anyone!! Great buy!! Great guitar!!!
