Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

The mini-pedal market has been booming the past few years, so Ibanez felt the time was right to offer some of their most legendary pedals in new mini housing! Ibanez is proud to announce the new MINI pedal Family, including the Super Metal. Made in Japan, the SMMINI still preserves the five-knob control layout as its bigger brother; the SM9. These five knobs can create almost unlimited tonal possibilities. The knob configuration features 2 stacked knobs (Edge/Punch and Attack/Level) and a significantly larger Drive knob. A true bypass switch provides the shortest, most direct signal path as well as the cleanest tone. The 100% analog circuitry offers amazingly natural distortion and harmonics. The SMMINI is a classic warm and full-sounding distortion pedal that won’t be a space hog on your pedal board!

I could not get a decent sound out of this pedal. The bass was flubby, and the high end too buzzy. I watched videos of this pedal and it seemed to be great for that nice 80's rock/metal, but I couldn't get there or it was too far and a fuzz mess.

This is a wonderful pedal that is totally worth the money. I was using an old overdrive pedal to play Metallica with my band until I bought this pedal. It is exponentially better. It is versatile and can be used for several types of distortion. This pedal is the sound I spent months looking for. With its small design it fits perfectly on my board. You do need a power source for it which is fine for me because I have a daisy chain. It is true bypass and makes no sound when bypassed though like all distortion pedals if it is on you'll notice it. I set most of the controls to in between 3 and 4 o'clock for a heavy distortion that wasn't over distorted. This is a great pedal!
